Why is the original RE2 considered to be an iconic masterpiece?
RESIDENT EVIL 2
It took Resident Evil 1's already solid formula and stepped up the production value, added more variety to each character's individual campaigns, and had a bunch of side content to encourage replays.
it dumbed-down the original's non-linearity and exploration-based gameplay and introduced more action
>Why is the original RE2 considered to be an iconic masterpiece?
Why are people shitposting by making an opening post that's obviously the opposite of truth? What do you gain from that?
Should I go with normal or easy for my first playthrough?
Normal. The game gives you tons of ammo to work with.
The story is shakespearean and the game is a cinematic masterpiece.
What world do you live in retard?
Fucking retard. Leave this site forever.
How is a Resident Evil game "Shakespearean"? You're memeing aren't you?
it also removed a lot of the map complexity and made it more linear and action.
Based. The remake is an insult to the original, and the same with 3.
Every resident evil thereafter became progressively more action focused its the future of the series if they are to keep the veteran characters.
RE1's map isn't more complex - it just has more backtracking involved because there's a wider variety of keys. That's it.
I loved REmake 2
Don't get me wrong as a game itself it's great definitely one of the better ones but as a remake I feel it didn't succeed.
>RE1's map isn't more complex
It is is considerably less linear
also how can you complain about "backtracking" in Resident Evil, a game about exploration?
no wonder the series died with 2 and had to be revived by 4
>the series died with 2
That's like saying Metallica started sucking when they released Ride the Lightning
metallica always sucked
>It is is considerably less linear
What are you even ON about? Both games are linear as hell. There's a specific order in which you have to get every key and key item to progress in both games. Both games also have tons of optional backtracking to get hidden weapons and items.
yes, and you are provided more freedom in doing so for the first game
Never played the original 1 but in the remake you can get the masks in different orders as long as you have the armor key and when you come back to the mansion you can do your objectives in different orders as well. You can do the whole tunnels and lisa trevor boss fight portion before defeating the snake in the library.
You posted Re1.5 ...
You get what I mean though.
No you aren't. You spend at least half of RE1 circling around the Spencer Mansion just like you do the RPD in RE2.
Neither the masks nor Lisa existed in OG RE1. You just collected a bunch keys and went straight to the Dormitory.
Do you even video games?
why do the lgbtq's love resident evil so much?
>retards have to compare RE2 with REmake in order to make RE2 look worse than the actual RE1
Amazing, simply ebin, Zig Forums.
how?
its no masterpiece
Why do artists ruin their work due to watermarks?
