Don't. You rely WAY to heavily on Byleth since she'll be your only mage who can both deal good damage and can take hits. Also you'll want to load up on Dark Fliers and play hit and run faggotry as it is by far the best option for most of your party.

Claude makes me question my sexuality with how damn charismatic he is and Edelgard might be a fascist cunt, but her route is at least completely unique. I agree that Blue Lions is best, and this is coming from someone who started with Golden Wind - as I have noticed peoples first routes are often their favourite.

I alternate male/female byleth, I did female byleth for my mage route with her because Gremory and Dark Flier are unique female classes and I didn't want to limit myself.

Honestly Faith Byleth is really strong and the memes of her exist for a reason, I love that Fire Emblem gave us a proper Mage Tank option for once.

The Wolves campaign is short but fun, also substantially harder than the base game and every mission has unique gimmicks that make them stand out. I also enjoy having the Wolves in the base 4 routes as it allows you to expand your team without needing to poach from other houses and all the wolves have at least one (often more) really cool relationship with existing students.

If you're planning on just doing the bonus campaign then it depends on how much you like Fire Emblem and how okay you are spending a modest amount of money on an 8 hour campaign. If you're planning on using Wolves in the main routes however then it is a solid "heck yeah". Be warned that Yuri is freaking gamebreaking and is basically as strong as Edelgard/Claude/Dimitri (and even stronger if you build him right).

holy fucking yikes this Ch 12 Battle of Garreg Mach against Edelgarg is hands down the most impossible thing I've ever seen in a video game. I get all the way down the right side to the last ballista, and then it's just non stop reinforcements. wave after wave after wave after wave after wave after wave after wave after wave of reinforcements. You clearly aren't meant to beat this shit without multiple of your classmates dying. I'm giving up. I'm fucking DONE. I put an hour into that fight, only for that shit to happen. I give up.

Try first post-TS mission with Claude on maddening if you think that's frustrating. After some 8 hours of trial and error, I realized I had somehow built my characters wrong or inefficiently, and my save file was stuck in an unwinnable fight. Returned the Switch to my friend who lent it to me the next day, my urge to play FE fully sated.
