I played from BC to Cata on a PvP server as a male blood elf hunter and then from MoP to BfA on a RP server as a female Alliance pandaren warrior.
I quit when BfA somehow made warrior super fucking unfun and my military RP guild fell apart.

it got substantially worse several times. 3.2, cata, wod, and bfa were all substantial drops in some way or another.

3.2 specifically

timeless isle was fun. kiting the archerius trash over to the world boss arena and killing afk people was fun, so was forming up gank squads and completely locking down the ramp. same faction world pvp was the best thing blizzard's done in almost ten years.

When it became a laundry list of menial daily tasks just to be allowed to enjoy the game baseline; requirements for races. The concept of grind for better gear so you can grind for better gear has also been rather silly to me. I enjoy the process, not the result, and it doubly annoys me when I have to grind just to even start the process.

Mists of Pandaria had a lot of good shit, but also a lot of bad, whereas the past 3 expansions have only been bad.

Warlords was the end of WoW ever being good again.

when my friends and everyone i met while playing it, stopped logging in. started at the end of wrath cata didn't help panda a bunch of people came back but the lsuper long lack of content after siege of orgrimmar killed it for everyone. We didn't survive after the first raid tier in warlords.
