I don’t understand why people get angry and say landlords are scum. It’s literally their job, if you don’t pay rent they don’t have money to pay for their own shit.
Even if you own the home the government can still take your house if you don’t pay property taxes

You don't just get evicted, it involves the courts and police. A landlord can't just tell you to get lost, the police have to come around to do it. More often than not, if you go to your landlord and have been a decent enough sort and are reasonable they will be more than willing to work with you to get rent paid "eventually" because the courts and police are both not too keen on evictions because no one wants to do it and if you, as a tenant, have made good faith efforts to pay the rent in uncertain times they will often times side with you and tell the landlord to lighten up.

landlord here. I own 14 properties. The only thing I requested from my tenants is some sort of proof that they're no longer employed (like a paystub). I then "canceled" their rent for as long as they're no longer working/collecting unemployment. However they're still expected to pay off their personal stuff like electricity, phone bills, etc. It helps that I own almost all of the properties outright and only charge enough to cover the mortgage and taxes

Thankfully I've never had angry calls or mobs appearing on my doorstep.

My mother was Hungarian so she taught me how to speak the language but Budapest is pretty easy to live in just by knowing english, rest of the country is trickier but in few years when the boomers who were thought german/russian at school get replaced its gonna be just fine
