Which console generation was worse? 7th or 8th?

8th

>half my ps3 games are hd remasters of ps2 games
>half my ps4 games are hd remasters of ps3 games

fuck man i dunno its all a pile of shit

8th

ps2 games were better so ps3 wins

8th

in exclusives 7th, in general 8th

thats fair, but i also have a ps2. oh well playing mgs3 at 60fps is probably worth owning a ps3 for

PS3 has games which will never be ported to other consoles because of the Cell architechture so it's a more meaningful gen.

You tell me.

>Not playing the superior MGS3 4K/60fps Xbox One X version
Kekus

8th was straight up non innovative shit and consoles barely had good games

8th by far. it's not even a contest. this regards every console manufacturer; Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo

5th gen had THOUSANDS of worthwile games
6th gen had half of it but still in abundance and will take you a lifetime to play them all
7th gen had a DOZEN and that's it.
8th gen had single digit

there is clearly a trend here. expect 9th gen to be at least just as shit and abysmal as 8th gen.

Are there any never gonna get ported games that are still worth playing? Also the emulator is making great strides so those games will belong to PC soon anyways.

most retarded post of the month. congratulations.

firstly emulation is never the best option unless a game is like super fucking rare or something, but also yes mgs4 and killzone 2 are both badass games that have yet to be ported

8th generation had way less interesting exclusives and games in general.

it was basically a lost gen in my eyes.

MGS4, Infamous 1 & 2, MotorStorm, Tokyo Jungle

damn didnt know that was an option but unless i can get an adapter to use a dualshock 2/3 i dont think i could do it. im sort of a controller autist its gotta be the right pad for the job ya know. for halo 1 its the duke or nothing for example

8th is worse for exclusives. 7th is worse for games in general.

dunno about emulators but there's bunch of cool games only on ps3

Maybe you are the retard if you don't know about the power of the Cell.

Sensible post. 7 was misery and PC was dying with GFWL cancer

7th gen had the NDS and the PSP, even though the PS3-360 were a complete mess most of the time.

literally this
I will never be not mad at microsoft for holding an entire gen of videogames back

8th

Both the PS3 and the PS4 had pretty awful launches but the PS3 actually picked up a lot of momentum for major game releases in the last half of its lifespan. (see ).

Cross platform games also ran better on the PS3 and the red-ring of death drove a lot of people away from the x-box. Being a blue-ray player really helped sell the console to parents wanting another use for the CoD machine. Free online multiplayer was also a bonus as people began to see the cracks in x-box live. Half the success of the PS3 was Microsoft shitting the fucking bed in the 7th generation, honestly.

8th

>Cross platform games also ran better on the PS3
bullshit

I have been playing games since the Nes/Sega Master. PS3/X360 is by far the fucking worst gen ever and nothing will ever be as bad as the brown cover shooter era. Overuse of bloom effect, abysmal frame-rate, insane drought of games... At least the Xbox had Halo and Gears but PS3 had nothing till almost the end of the gen. Worst of all was the lack of Jrpg's.
I only bought a PS4 like 2 years ago but already have more than twice the amount of games I ever owned on PS3 since launch. And yes I paid $600 for that turd and for the first few years all I played on it was FF12, SFIV and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Worst gen by far. Almost made me quit gaming.

8th. What the fuck was I thinking getting a 8th gen console half way into the run? I should of just ignored that shit.

KNACK 2 BAAA BYYYYYY

7th gen killed all mid budget studios, made everything a homogenized AAA game and then people pretended no budget Indies exclusively making 2D platformers could make up for it.

These days, things are finally recovering, we're far better off than we were 10 years ago, but exclusives have become complete garbage outside of Nintendo, and even they have become pretty stagnant.

You severely overestimate how good 5th and 6th. Most of the games you are thinking were good are totally unplayable. Even if you ignore framerate and play them on a CRT, they are still totally shit that were done better later.
7th was hardly much worse. 8th is total shit, if anything because consoles stopped trying after segregating developer pools a fuckton.

NDS has a fantastic library of games that would be much better on literally any other platform. I fucking hate playing on the DS. PSP was okay if you like JRPGs and SRPGs.

A huge amount of titles from each of those systems are cum covered feces.
ps1/2 are bloated for sure, but filled with semen you have to wade in.

>Most of the games you are thinking were good are totally unplayable.
No, not really.

Some did, most didn't.

I love my DS and most of the games on it would definitely not exist on the fucking PS3 lol. The "we have to make everything about grafix" shit on those consoles was horrendous.

8th gave us bloodborne so 7th

All the studios that made interesting games in the 5th and 6th gens shut down in the 7th gen, so no, it was much worse

i dunno maybe its cause my pc isnt that great (mostly just use it for classic games like fear, doom 3 half life 2 etc) but i like having the ps4 pro. i got the most out of it that i could anyway. a lot of my favorites are multi plats but whatever at least i know they will always run well.

you're a fucking moron if you think those crappy xbox versions weren't gimped from the start. playing MGS3 without analog buttons is for dumbasses who play through the game once, triggering alerts during every encounter.

In that way, yes, the DS was better because devs didn't need to focus on visuals as much. But in terms of actually playing the games, the DS is a miserable piece of shit that is uncomfortable to hold and has terrible controls. Leaving aside the factors that force games on higher fidelity consoles to be higher budgeted, if a DS game was on a home console or PC with absolutely no other changes, it would be an inherently better game simply because of ditching the awful DS hardware itself.

Nothing you said is true. FFS after all this time you could have refined your bullshit.
360 games consistently ran better. RDR1 ran far better on 360, bethsoft games were 360 only for the most part because of performance, EDF2025 is a joke on ps3, Armored Core 4, GTA4/5, Bayonetta, Diablo 3, CoD games, etc. among many others.
YLOD killed more 2006-2009 ps3 consoles than RROD killed 2005-2008 360's. Look it up while you work on your ignorance. After those years both systems rare saw dead consoles because ps3 went slim and 360 went with a revised mobo.
PS3 and still PS4 is painfully slow to download over PSN. After Sony forced the paid service you Sony people were so convinced their service was acceptable after screaming "(IT WAS FREE)" you never noticed just how mediocre and slow it is even if you paid. A 360 with 100mb ethernet out does ps3/ps4 with 1gb ethernet constantly, pathetic.
MS didn't shit the bed. It was PS3 making up mega sales in third world countries as a BD player long after the 360/ps3 were done making sales to general large countries.

Also I don't even like MS. I just like shitting on ignorant faggot liars.

>PS4 Pro
>running games well
Not in my experience.

I find my DS lite to be decently comfortable. Now, the N3DS makes my fingers go numb in no time.
