I am fully aware that fallout has wierd and janky gun designs but why do people do this? It's so immersion breaking to put modern guns with picatinny rails and holo sights and scopes and polymer handguards etc etc This stuff does not belong in the Fallout world - it didn't even look right on the marksman rifle that was in the game from the start

New Vegas would had worked better if it had couple if it had more modern weapons like Fallout 2 had. Just think about it, you have spent half of the game playing cowboys and legionaires with lever-action rifles&revolvers&wooden AR-15s and then you see a NCR veteran ranger or some elite legionaire armed with a kraut space magic rifle or pancor.
