I can't say anything about Zig Forums or my tastes in general. but I really hated Destiny 2. Bought it because my friends convinced me and the whole thing let less like a fun game and more like an enormous chose. Supposedly the raids or whatever they added are the fun part, but I just couldn't be assed to get back into the game, even if it's to play with friends.

i liked destiny 2, wish i could play destiny 1 since everyone basically screams that it was the better game, had friends to play it with which probably helped
but now that we're all caught up we've realized we all feel like "i hope this next update makes the game good". everything after forsaken seems to kinda suck. the moon expansion had us all like "...is that it?"

I feel like Destiny 2 would be way better if it didn't try to be an MMO. Kinda the same problem as SWTOR. Either have a big open world where the content is always there, like an Elder Scrolls or Far Cry game, or have a proper campaign with level after level like Halo.

If they're gonna stick to the "open world kind of but not really" approach, AT LEAST let us choose a global difficulty level. 90% of the content that could have been fun is too easy (and some of that can be done on a higher difficulty, but limited to a single daily activity, like the heroic story missions). The remaining 10% gets repetitive REAL fast

People who don't play it don't understand what it means to hate Destiny. They think they're better than others because they never bothered, ignorance is fucking bliss.
Destiny is a cycle of improvement and self destruction. Bungie continually releases garbage, then gold, then turns the gold to tin, and follows it up with more garbage. Everything good and fun gets nerfed or "patched" continuously, while things that are legitimately in a bad state get ignored for months or even years.
Destiny 2 is fun gameplaywise, and that's the only reason people play Destiny still. Because the longer you play it, the more you learn that a fun game is being developed by insanely incompetent developers, with an idiot lead who has ruined everything he touched since Taken King.
Destiny 2 is a mud pit. It's fun to jump in and splash around. But then night falls and you're just muddy, soggy and cold.

Technically I'm only LL250 light here, because they made LL750 effectively LL0. It was a weird way of evening everything out so everyone could play everything up to a certain point.
