I have not loved the franchise as much since 3. None have scratched the itch but back then I was a 10 year old kid with all the time in the world. Even printed the 4th weapon guide for all characters and blu-tacked it on my wall.

4 was decent, and 5, I skipped 6 and played my first Empires game which was decent. Skipped 7, played a bit of 8XL but couldn't get into it and not gonna play 9. One of my main gripes now is the weapon system of letting anyone use any weapon but each had a proficiency rating. Though my memory is all muddled up so no idea what has what now.

I know it's not a DW game but Pirate Warriors 2 is probably my second favourite.

What the fuck is Capcom's deal with that? They've had massive success lately and yet they can't bring over this one series that has eluded the West for years.

Devil King and Sengoku Basara 3 flopped too much according to Capcom's expectations, and licensing TM Revolution's songs probably costs too much to worth the hassle, I think?

Because Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes flopped hard after getting big time VAs like Dante and Vergil's to do Date Masamune and Ishida Mitsunari.
If there's one thing about Capcom, is that they rarely give second chances to franchises that continue to flop. Dragon's Dogma was a desperate gamble that managed to pay off with the Steam release. Sengoku Basara isn't so fortunate as even in Japan, sales haven't been very good.

Musou games habit of releasing a half assed base game so that they can sell a stand alone ULTIMATE/XTREME version of the game with all the features you expect is no longer working.

I desperately want a Super Robot Wars musou spin-off. Just make Dynasty Warriors Gundam again but add in mechs from other series like Getter Robo

you know, something in the back of my mind told me "just skip the nanman stages, trust me"
i cant explain what it was but something tells me i probably buried the memory of ever playing those stages for a good reason

The only portable Musou I've played is Samura Warriors Chronicles 3rd. I really like it since its missions are designed around the fact that you can give orders and switch between 4 characters, giving the stages a lot more things to do and force urgency upon the players.
