What's next for Crash Bandicoot?
What's next for Crash Bandicoot?
4 will sell terrible compared to the remakes and the series will go on hiatus again
The dumpster
They really had an easy job here. All they had to do was get someone who has any fucking business working on Crash Bandicoot like Beenox and Vicarious Visions, who clearly showed they are the ones for the job.
Really shocked to be honest at how far Activision is willing to go to avoid Crash having consistent developers.
The games trailer was only announced a month ago and everyones already gone into doom and gloom mode. I know its a staple of nu Zig Forums but we barely even have 10 minutes of footage.
CTR looked promising from the first trailer.
He looks like he fucks human men
it's a staple of old Zig Forums too
Wasn't N. Sane also made by T4B?
Not CTR on PC, that's for sure.
Activision lost Doom, Spider-Man, and Destiny
Guitar Hero is dead again
So aside from Blizzard and mobile shit, their cash cows are CoD, Crash, and Spyro
Expect a huge push for Crash
A cartoon, comic, balloon float, etc like Skylanders in its peak
Vicarious Visions
Doesn't really matter since all three work close together
They all did shifts to make annual Skylanders games
sadly I do think this be correct
nah
I miss /cbg/
Beenox is working on 4 as a support studio, much like T4B did in the remake trilogy
Also VV is working on THPS1+2
Entirely depends on how well this next game does is the only sane response.
If it flops they might can it or try again from a different angle. If it's a success then obviously there'll be more as it makes money.
I'm pretty optimistic, it doesn't have the same soul as the original trilogy, but that's not to say it doesn't have a soul, just a different one. The gameplay looks right and surprisingly difficult (thought it would be baby mode easy), back to classic style with loads of extras (new masks, new playable characters), I really like the new look even if it's a departure from the original. It looks evident to me that a lot of effort has gone into it, as a Crash fan since I was a kid it's great to see. Also sounds like the game will be long from what they've said.
I always wanted to see a Crash Bash remake - much bigger and meatier than the original. Crash and co are a fun bunch for a slapstick multiplayer pick up and play co op.
So are we getting more CTR or not?
No.
They also lost the Nickelodeon licence after shitting all over it
All they had to do was get VV use the fucking NST engine and make Crash 4, the route they took is unecessarily risky
I don't think it was an option desu, the NST engine is just too fucking old to continue using considering the limitations on what they could do.
I do think that they should have used the same art team for the sake of consistency though, seeing as with UE4 you won't deal with those disgusting dark spots on all the models because it has properly modern lighting.
Nothing. End the series here. Too risky to do anything else new, and jury is still out on this one anyway.
New Spyro next year. End that series too.
Release PC port of Crash Team Racing finally.
>too risky
Coward.
Well, price would be a factor.
Crash/Spyro consumers are already trained to buy games at $40. All those remakes came out before coronavirus.
Crash 4 is being released in the middle/end of the pandemic depending on where you live, and at 1.5x the price.
$40 for the N. Sane Trilogy is like 80 levels. 50c per level on average and that's if you only play each game once. Most people replay Crash games.
How Activision think they can get away with selling a single game with half the amount of levels and at a considerable markup, I dunno. That def. takes balls.
We will see what happens post-holiday. I don't think it will fail, but I don't expect it to outsell N. Sane.
Now tell me somthing redeeming about said footage
Not really. The game will sell a lot because it's actually a new game and not a rehash / remaster.
It wont sell as much as the originals combined but it will sell a lot.
They will be in Crash Bandicoot 4: IAT, screencap this.
user I'll bet you $60 it doesn't crack 2mil by Jan 2021. Screen cap this.
The game doesn't need to sell 2 million to be successful
crash bandicoot was never a blockbuster but not a flop either
