CAST HIM IN
Fuck, I wish they'd remake the series to have a uniform presentation and top it off with a sequel that ties up all the loose ends.
KAIN IS in one good game.
God, I loved these games. Especially Blood Omen 2.
The atmosphere of the Device and Hylden City is unparalleled.
The mystery of soul reaver was great but when Hennig actually started trying to explain what she set up it diminished pretty quickly.
>we're blue aliens bro
cast him in
AGONY!
yeah for all the shit bo2 gets, it lets you explore some truly interesting areas and gets into aspects of the series that aren't really seen in the other games
can you elaborate?
Fucking amen man, I never see enough people talk about BO2. It's a bit janky to play today but the atmosphere and voice acting was something else
>tie up all the loose ends
It doesn't really need anything more The wheel of time is ended, hope for a future not chained to fate
Anything after that is just milking it.
the gameplay, particuarly the combat holds up way better than sr 1 or 2
Bring it on!
Ok, guys, am I crazy or did Fury Road sample Raziel's scream? Listen closely when Furiosa forces the truck into the sandstorm.

Man I should go back and play SR1 but I can't without a controller.
I thought the boss fights overall were pretty decent as well, specially Sebastian and Magnus' ones. The locations were fucking sweet too, I still remember how much the Eternal Prison fucked with me
Oh shit a LoK thread
A really interesting story that is unfortunately stuck behind some not so interesting games. Great voice acting too.
The humans always felt weirdly neglected in the series, I guess they really were just cattle.
>A really interesting story
I would contest even that.
Correct. I like the LoK games, but only the first one has actually truly good gameplay. Also the world was pretty engaging and unique before the Soul Reaver retcons.
The Soul Reaver games are interesting but honestly play like shit, and Defiance is acceptable.
>tfw zoomer that grew up with Blood Omen 2 and Rogue Ops on the gamecube
don't know how the fuck I ended up with those two but I don't regret it
SR1 has its moments, but the last third of the game getting dropped makes for a pretty underwhelming experience, and I never liked where they went with the story. The original story for it was a lot better.
I'd have rather gotten the Vorador prequel from the original team than SR1, to be honest.
the clan tell tales of him

Not the guy you were responding to, but I agree.
I think BO2 is the black sheep of the series because it was more focused on combat than the other games. It was refreshing to get into BO2 after playing Defiance and learning you're no longer the top dog that juggles enemies left and right. I admit, I was rather young and unskilled, but I remember having trouble fighting more than one opponent. And while some may say that it was the combat system's fault I kinda liked how there was no button prompt to "parry any attack from any direction and change focused enemy".
Besides, it made me try and stealthly kill enemies, or initiate the fight with a jump attack, just to make the fight easier.
Didn't care too much about BO2, the bossfights were alright but the gameplay was just so clunky, and the story was obviously a sidestory to be retconned later.
Kain killing Umah was extremely based just for being so in-character, feels like you don't get that kind of protag anymore
BO1/BO2 Kain's voice is still some of the best voice acting from a video game to date desu
I'm extremely impressed that they did manage to take their Soul Reaver lore and just merge it with the Blood Omens world as well as they did. Obviously it's a bit janky at parts but overall it shoulnd't have worked as well as it did.
But I will say that I found the style of BO to be very interesting, sort of a unique western fantasy setting, while the SR games are a bit more "anime", or whatever.
>Eternal Prison
Fucking eternal prison. I still get ptsd from the guys with sewn eyes and the wierd torture devices.
>Magnus
And FUCK MAGNUS. The fucking moment where he was running after you and you had to lure him on a bridge and lower it with those janky controls. Also, I was stuck on the bossfight for a week, because I was too stupid to understand that Immolate requires line of sight.
Rip magnus, you were too good for that world
What amazes me the most is that the series is made of unfinished games and repurposed cancelled projects but everything still fits very well because of the way the dialogue was written.
i played soul reaver 1,2 and defiance before blood omen. it's kind of weird how they talk about the hylden and you assume they're just some shit eating medieval tier race and then you see in blood omen 2 they're so technologically advanced and have powerful magic
It's why I'd love a remake of the series to smooth out all the incredibly rough edges.
>it's kind of weird how they talk about the hylden and you assume they're just some shit eating medieval tier race and then you see in blood omen 2
Same except I played Blood omen first. When the Hyden were mentioned I literally had no idea what they were talking about.
tfw i unironically played this trash for quite a while.
quite imbalanced but there was fun as well
