NOOOO JIN...

> NOOOO JIN, YOU CAN'T JUST DEFEAT THE MONGOLS WITH CLEVER TACTICS! YOU NEED TO CHALLENGE THEM TO HONORABLE DUELS WHERE OUR BEST SWORDSMEN DIE BECAUSE THE MONGOLS DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE RULES, NOW YOU NEED TO COMMIT SODUKU, THIS IS A SHAMFUR DISPRAY, YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST USED MY TACTICS WHICH HAVE ONLY LED TO DEFEAT SO FAR

Thanks for the white armor uncle

Doesn't matter, just wait for the storm to make them fuck off.

Is playing as a samurai/ghost equivalent to a morality system in this game? Does it affect the ending?

Nope, no matter how honorabu you play Jin goes full edge.

It's the correct thing to do. Guy has to work with fucking peasants.

I mean, it IS called GHOST of Tsushima for a reason after all.

I get his complaints. It's basically "respect the rules of engagement" even if it's inefficient because that way you're not a monster. I mean, we would have had way less dead soldiers if we did nothing but drop daisy cutters into the mountain ranges surrounding afghanistan instead of having ground engagements, but that just wasn't how the US conducts war.

It's a bit more complicated than that in Afghanistan, but yeah sure.

Is it really though? Only insurgents ever made use of tunnel complexes within mountains. Flatten the mountains and you flatten the terrorists. I never said bomb towns, just the mountains. The towns would be a different matter to handle.

The taliban would stay in or near the villages. They aren’t stupid.

They thought picking a fight with America wouldn't leave them with bombed out homes. Sounds pretty stupid to me.

The point of entering Afghanistan was to clear the insurgency, bombing a place to kingdom come is really less effective than it sounds because of multiple reasons, some political others ethical and because it just flat doesn't work some times (Vietnam for instance). We could get into semantics, but the easiest thing you can do is read James F. Amos the The U.S. Army/Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Field Manual. Lots of interesting things there that can explain the nuances of dealing with the sort of situation you are describing far better than I ever could.

UNCLE I INSIST YOU RECONSIDER

Vietnam wouldn't have been an issue if America nuked the country off the map. Would it be ethical? No it wouldn't. But it would be efficient, and it would end the fighting while preventing the death of more samura-- G.I.

desu I would have liked there to be two routes too, but I would've wanted the "honor/samurai" route to be incredibly fucking difficult.

Shimura cares more about his honor than his people. This is why Jin embraces the Ghost fully. The shogun fears a guerilla insurrection.

did it affect the ending in Infamous games if you were a nice guy or a douchebag?

The only way you fight an entrenched insurgency is by killing every person in the territory. All of them, so you can be sure that the enemy is dead.

Like I said, that theory is tempting to any arm chair theorist who will always say "Well can't we just do this?". Lot more nuance and brass than you think and trying to circumvent would be looking for easy solutions to hard questions. I once again really do recommend you read that book, I'm just a monkey on a type writer trying to answer questions that people smarter than you or I have been studying for millions of years.

Jin was fine until the poison, then I feel they had a right to be mad at him

well, not really

why though? I haven't finished the game but I don't understand why poisoning an enemy camp would attract the ire of the shogun. Why was he arrested by Shimura?

Is he right?

Because the people of Tsushima must not question the authority of the samurai or challenge their power. If the Ghost can teach them to defend themselves against mongols, he can teach them to defeat samurai.

Samurai wouldnt care.

Bushido existed, but not at alm the way this game presents it. This game is like an 11 year old weebs idea of japan after he watched naruto

>weeaboo mad that he isn't the pc

He is correct. Abandoning ones Honor, everything one does is futile.

Natives will remember a benefactor Mongols freing them from slavery of opressing Samurai and some retard terrorist killing people and achieving nothing.

That insult doesnt even make sense. Schizophrenia is amazing

Will there be a game about proud Talib fighting against evil US invaders?

US did worse thing in Vietnam and Cambodia than just nuking them.

>a movie version of bushido

Well, duh. The game literally has a Kurosawa mode.

What said plus on top of that the orders from the Shogun should be considered absolute. If one man is excused from following them others would believe they can be exempt too, basically toppling the pyramid of power that's going on with shogun > samurai > serf.

Seriously how was shimura expecting to rebuild that bridge right below and in front of the enemy? This has to be the most forced plot point in the game, no one would ever consider trying that.

Why would people of Tsushima care about authority of Samurai and fight against Mongols? Both are autocratic opressors, as well majority of isle populace were pirates themselves.

The game is a romanticized portrayal of the samurai culture as seen in popular media (akin to the knight and cowboy culture). And there is nothing wrong with that. SP never claimed it to be a historically accurate portrayal of the events. It's a fictional story set in a certain historical period.
But of course you've already known that and just wanted to shitpost, so I don't know why I'm wasting my time here

I still never used poison
I have no problem assassinating people but poison is too cowardly even for me. I honestly was annoyed the story made you do it

Not really, it didn't do much infamous 1 and in 2 you could pick either ending regardless to go for a redemption/heel turn.Second son would have been a better game if they went with 2's evil ending as canon.

it's weird how leftists always seem to ignore these countries when they talk about how great communism is

actually, poison is recognized and legitimate and smart tactic

Poison 1 person = you are asasssin
Poison 1000 persons = you are Sun Tze
Poison 1000.000.000 persons = you are Coca Cold

Nah, fuck the mongol
Don't care how those pieces of shit die

Well for one, the Mongols learnt the recipe and used it on the Japs.

Before The Ghost, the people relied entirely on their samurai. Learning they can protect Tsushima without them could lead to rebellion.

such as now the katana didn't even exist yet during this time period

Neither does your complaint. You just wanted to say weeb

its weird how you ignore both countries were fucked over to the ground by US

Cambodia was not communist. It was morachy and even more so - US ally. US bombed it to stone age (letting Khmeres raise to power), since it feared it "could" become communist by chinese influence

>giving this dumb old fuck exactly what he wants, an honourable death
You jewed yourself, hebrew

the mongols then used jins poison against the japanese people
even the most staunch sparefag has to admit shimura was right on this one

To be fair, a lot of aspects of the games plot ask of the player to go along with values that would feel pretty foreign and archaic to a modern, western player. Feudalism good, nationalism good, honor codex should be taken for granted... actually, people not wanting Jin to commit what were probably the equivalent of war crimes is one of the more relatable plot points.

shadow tactics gang represent

Or how they have you making haiku 500 years before the first known composition in history.

>let me set my game in italy
>everyone wears sombreros and eats sushi
>omg who cares its not supposed to be totally acuurate jeez

Its not at all like kurosawa movies either. They added a black and white filter and thats about it

before the Ghost they were pirates raiding Korea and there were no Samurai, only ronins that escaped. It was pirate island before and after the invasion.

true, but no one knew that until Jin escaped and headed north. And that fact was more for Jin's own realization that his course of action was not perhaps the right one, and that there are still horrible consequences for it. Sure he saved the soldiers, but doomed another group of people

that's cool bruh, you can ignore the genocide the communists did
it hasn't been memory holed yet

this post is almost word for word what shimura said
why do people still dont get it?

>>let me set my game in italy
>>everyone wears sombreros and eats sushi
>>omg who cares its not supposed to be totally acuurate jeez
That comparison would be legit if the people in GoT were wearing Chinese style clothing, but they don't. Keep shitposting though - your inane seething is rather entertaining

but you know what? all of that stuff is ok because its fiction

I tell you nothing burns my biscuits more than people viewing fiction through the lens of reality. If you want reality go outside!

>NOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T COPY JAPANESE CINEMA YOU HAVE TO COPY REALITY
faggots like you are what ruin games as a whole.

Khmeres rose to power thanks to US and Kissinger supported and armed them, to keep them opposition to China. And even so Khmere genocide is barely comparable to death caused by US bombing most of urban infrastructure in Cambodia, letting million starve and had to leave cities - which enable Khmeres to capture power.

This is getting really fucking irritating. The nipspeak refers to them as Tachi, which is correct and spot the difference between a katana and a tachi.
>inb4 I’m an ancient Japanese sword google master and can quote Wikipedia on the difference
No one gives a fuck. You’re crying about something as inconsequential as the difference between a fucking tachi and a katana when Kotal Khan is in the fucking game. It’s not historically accurate, nigger. It’s a video game.

War crimes are often decided to be war crimes by the winners after the fact so they don’t have to deal with the tactics they used to win. Samurais of the time did absolutely heinous things to establish power then went full bushido propaganda to keep people in line and acting dumb.

country was already a 3rd world shit hole, will always be a 3rd world shithole
know what would be dangerous though? to allow china to continue expanding

gotta break some eggs jack

I was always weirded out on how they knew about the wolfsbane poison. The first time in story that Jin used it was against some straw hats (which I hope everyone here went and killed like I did) and the second time was at the castle. Unless someone at the castle mouthed off the mongols shouldn't have known anything about the poison.
