Win7 bros...
Win7 bros
I'm on Win7 64 bit. Primarily because back when I saw Windows 10, the interface looked incredibly ugly to me like it was made for people who spend most of their time on iphones. I prefer not to use that kind of thing. Only reason I haven't switched. Maybe they have support now for the old UI.
So, what should we use when inevitably we'll have to change OS?
I switched to windows 10 recently from 7 and I have to say that 10 is fucking garbage. It's one of the most glitchy ass shitty fucking piece of shit operating systems I've ever used. The glitches might be okay if it wasn't for the inconsistent retard design choices and the babby down syndrome proof settings that obscure everything useful. I installed manjaro at the same time and it is a so much better experience. The worst problem I ran into is having to change kernel boot flags or something because I'm running an r9 390
windows 10 ltsc (or linux)
I have a solution for you, gentlemen
The absolute state of Windows 8
same experience. My windows 7 runs fine, but I put 10 on a second harddrive so I could play games that require it, but the damn OS freezes 1 to 2 times a day. So it's hard to wanna play anything knowing your game could freeze randomly, especially online games with matchmaking
Sorry bro I had to upgrade in order to play death stranding.
Truth be told it's not that bad. It's just another flavor of windows. They went a bit overboard with trying to retardproof everything but that's all I've noticed so far.
I'll keep using win7 until it no longer works. I have to use win10 at work and fuck I hate it.
>only people clicking yes on everything take part in surveys.
Suprise suprise.
This

Member of the "I hate Win10 but I have no choice" club over here
I prefer Win7 but Win10 just works.
10 is fucking awful
dumb cunts couldn't even set it up right for dual monitor displays so every time you try to drag a window across screens it tries to snap it in place at the screen border
>Linux is actually becoming viable for gaming due to Proton
Valve is pretty based
YEAR OF LOONIX DESKTOP 2030
What does clicking yes have to do with this? Doesnt steam auto detect your hardware and os in those surveys?
This is not a mandatory survey, you need to click "yes" at the prompt that asks you for a system scan
what if they want to play video games?
win 11 when??
There is absolutely no point in staying on Win7 a part from a select few games working better in Win7. But that is offset by the many more games working better with W10.
They don't (although there are some third party UI switchers) but it's much easier to de-fuck the interface into something usable now.
I had the same thing, tried out 10 when it was fairly new, got annoyed with it's bullshit in like 2 hours and switched back.
Installed it again this year and managed to clean out most shit and there's many more resources for finding out how to stop MS being cunts with your system. It's not gonna be the same, but it's managable.
Remember to get Pro because Home users get loaded with a number of little incremental fuckeries that Pro doesn't. Major fuckeries are to all users, but Pro seems to at least have a bit of insulation against some crap they decide not to annoy people in 'Pro' environments with.
They ask you to take part in the hardware survey. The type who denies win10 will also deny a survey. Any survey will basically over represent the yes mans choice.
>Linux is actually becoming viable for gaming due to Proton
>Valve is also censoring and banning video-games
What's going on here?
grow two braincells and stop being an incompetent retard
they can
Then use proton, wine or lutris
even EAC works with proton nowaday
I will use Win10 when I finally give up the gamer life and buy a laptop for work. Until then it's Win7 for me
I work in IT and 90% of the issues I encounter related to Windows 10 when it first came out was because the person tried to upgrade directly from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 without doing a full reformat, or because they bought a laptop with a fuck ton of pre-installed bloatware.
Windows 10 is fine. Just don't be retarded.
>The type who denies win10 will also deny a survey.
You're retarded.
Install OpenShell when switching to Win10
their employees do whatever the fuck they want
if they feel like sperging out at a few games, they do it
If they feel like starting a project and then canning in a year into development, they do it
there are no bosses at valve
I complained when I had to switch from Windows XP to Windows 7 (expecially when Vista was shit) but eventually over a few weeks I realised that it I was just scared of change and Windows 7 was actually good.
I've been using Windows 10 solidly for about three years now and it's still a loathsome piece of shit. I hate using it everyday and I consistantly think about upgrading back to Windows 7 but haven't out of laziness and fear of not being able t o support vidya.
Shit fucking sucks.
>UI
Don't all latest Windows versions have themes or some shit like that? You can make look 7 like XP and 10 like 7 or something else.
>noncomformists saying no to everything aint real
no u faggot.
Why do people deny win10? Spyware taking your data. What is a survey? Gib data pls. Its pretty self-evident that the type that doesnt want win10 cause data protection wont take any survey.
Holy shit. Thank you user. This makes a big difference.
I'm curious about all the people complaining about windows 10. I basically use my pc for gaming and some miscellaneous things like spreadsheets and shitposting on the internet. It works exactly like win7 in that regard and works just fine. The only thing I didn't like is the UI shit with the tiles and everything but then again I didn't like win7 UI's either after migrating from windows XP so that's still the same issue but I've learned to live with the "modern" UI design garbage.
So where do the problems come in? What activities are you doing on your PC that's so different from Windows 7?
Do any games even use DX12 yet?
If its actually 88% you would think it would be more relevant, not like they're concerned about 12% of their consumers.
