The fundamental problem with consoles is that they are products for the American consoomer, for whom the act of BUYING a game is at least half the enjoyment they get out of it, playing is secondary. I live in a 3rd world country, saved up for a good PC, and I can play all games on it for free because I pirate everything. It is less "gatekeeping" and more like consolefags and corporations shilling their hearts out and making idiots believe that buying a console is cheaper, whereas on the long run, it is an extremely bad use of money.
