When does this shit get good? None of you people ever mention the corridors, shit AI, and linearity of the world. So keep on kissing this games ass, keep on building this game up in your head, fuck you.

Get filtered fag

it doesn't. its just ds1 beta

DeS is a meme. The sequels are better in every way.

If the remake does not take mechanics from DS3 like an estus equivalent and non-instant backstabs as well as remaking how a lot of the bosses work it'll be absolute shit and will get abandoned a few months after launch like DSR did.

Corridors create atmosphere. The AI is indeed dumb but gets away with it cause you're dealing with demons, zombies an reanimated armors, they are apposed to be dumb. You can tackle the worlds in any order you want, i dont know how that is linear.

Right away.

>the corridors, shit AI, and linearity of the world
Souls games are dungeon crawlers you idiot.

>late-comer casual uses incremental improvements to dimiss the game that produced 90% of the rest out of nowhere.

Open minded poster.

Where do I get more grass?

DeS has the best overall level design in the series, the only levels with bad design are 4-2 (too linear) and 5-2 (the swamp segment at the beginning is shit).

Play DaS3 then. It's basically Demon's Soulless.

If you play DeS like BB or DaS3 you’ll have a bad time. You don’t pick a build/weapon and just play through everything. You’re expected to play dirty and use every trick in the book to get through. Because the game is dirty back at you.

You really need some form of ranged damage. Magic or a bow or something.

Weapon upgrades don’t work like later games. Newer souls games give you upgrade mats in fairly linear order, you can’t really get a maxed out weapon before game wants to.

In DeS it’s very easy to get endgame tier weapons very early. Crescent Falchion, Blessed Mace will help you out immensely. You can also fully upgrade along standard path as soon as you beat Armoured Spider. But for certain locations/enemies it’s better to forgo your chosen weaponfu and use something else better suited.

EG if you go into 4-1 with a slashing dmg weapon you will struggle to kill skeletons. But your fists do blunt damage and can easily kill them. You’ve got to adapt, stack health regen gear to traverse poison swamp unharmed. Use Graverobber ring to cheese black plhanton enemies. Use thief ring to trivialise Old Hero.

That’s the point of the game. Finding more and more tools to add to your arsenal to help you with the bits you were previously stuck at. Newer souls games mostly lost this. Became about reaction speed and mechanical skill. Build and gear diversity was for fun and variation, not a rock/paper/sissors approach where a Blunt weapon trivialises one zone, while a certain ring makes a boss easy. Those advantages still exist, but later games are balanced so that physical damage melee man can do the entire game without it feeling unfair. If you try get through stonefang with only the physical dmg melee weapons you’re fucked.

Just dupe it. Grass grinding is retarded.

The correct answer is "you don't" you absolute shitter.

The corridor's are wonderful. They make you actually be careful with your choices of attack instead of just being able to roll around endlessly in open areas like in Dark Souls games, create good atmosphere etc.

>he wants open world
>where all you do is place a waypoint and travel directly there ignoring everything else along the way
>will fast travel from then on once reached
There is nothing wrong with linearity faggot.

i admit DS1 is a better game, but i still noticed Demons combat was 100% better than literally any action RPG that was out at the time. couple that with the first time i was invaded, and how unique and stressful of a situation it was, i immediately knew it was a masterpiece. playing Demons now in 2020 after Souls mania has taken the edge off of the franchise is easy.
tldr: predictable zoomer REEEaction

Basically this. If people still wants DaS3 tier Soullessnes then they can also play Bloodborne. DeS is unique and does many things right compared to other Souls games. Demon's Souls and Dark Souls is still standing tall in Souls games because they had features and quirks into them that's been lost in later titles. Le hardcore playerbase hurt these games when actually later games only test your reaction time while like you said DeS was testing your situational awareness and imagination. Le hardcore Souls players should move on to Ninja Gaiden because it's basically NuSouls but 20 times better.

Demon's Souls is basically non lineer tough. World design is lineer but progression design isn't.

Okay, I will. Don't feel bad if you can't beat it, you don't owe us or the game anything.

>beat Demon Souls
>huge amount of fun thorough out
>Felt that every locations was different and there was new surprise in every boss fight.
>Dark Souls comes out
>get up to O&S, beat them and fuck around a bit in the Duke's archives
>never return
>Beat Dark Souls 2
>Have a ton of fun with pvp and pvp builds
>every new dlc introduced tons of weapons, some completely outlandish
>beat it like eight times because of that
>Beat Bloodborne
>absolutely fantastic and the dlc made it even better.
>pvp sucked but the environments, weapons, and themes were perfectly executed.
>Beat DS3
>Feels very linear and repetitive. Good number of elements I like but it isn't the best game.
>Still return to it on occasion with and without cinders.
>Beat Sekiro
>love everything about the combat and feel

I still have not beaten DS1 and I still don't know why I care for it the least. I wouldn't even describe it as having a ton of fun since nothing really clicked.

>I watched an e-celeb video
The idea that DeS was unique wasn't even floated in this shit internet board until after Matthew made that video. It was always just DS was DeS but with a plunge attack and better combat.
I hate all you faggots.

>The idea that DeS was unique wasn't even floated in this shit internet board until after Matthew made that video.
You're right, that's why there were Demon's Souls threads before DaS1 even came out and why Demon's Souls was a cult hit: because it wasn't unique at all. Glad you've figured it out faggot, it was all a ruse.

DeS is just a typical fantasy adventure game that came out at a time when adventure games were in a decline and every fantasy game had a discount Blizzard aesthetic.

[the lone DeS fanboy screams in the distance]

Let's be honest. Dark Souls is the only thing of value from this series. A perfect story, with perfect atmosphere, with a perfect first half, a good second half, and the right amount of variety to keep you coming back. All other games in the series can't even come close.

Go press a button so a boss dies like it's some walking sim.
Some fucking "masterpiece".

>I didn't know about DeS until I watched a youtube video about it so nobody else did either
Go fuck yourself you absolute pinhead, I bought it and loved it like six months after it released and it's always been my favorite one

It's their first souls game, everyone loves their first souls game

God damn if it doesn't have the best (but easiest) bosses. Pretty much every boss has some sort of major gimmick going on that makes them unique compared to "big bipedal that moves slow" and "big quadrupedal that moves fast."

Blind boss? Got it. PVP boss? Got it. Boss made of dozens of minor enemies? Very first one you meet. Shit had soul.

It's great keep seething

I never understood why people make a big deal out of not liking Souls games
Just don't play if you hate it so much

they all feel like they have something to proof because they're special for going against the flow or something
