this is fucking awful
is it time to move to Linux?
This is fucking awful

Reminder that Linux is the reddit of operating systems
I have used Windows 10 since it became available, and had none of the major issues people bitch about. My favorite complaint is "the PC restarted on me on something important!" Literally never happened to me. Ever.
Unless you really care about multiplayer games linux runs games better than native windows ports
just dualboot or run with a VM if a game doesn't play nice with linux
Go back to 7
me too but with every update they installed shit i already deleted aka candy crush and recently they installed their shit browser i didn't ask for this
fuck windows
user don't start the cycle
Go back
Yes move on, I did and I'm so glad I did. I feel in control of my computer again. I know it's retarded but games feel more fun to me on Linux. Just use protondb to see if your games will work. Ubuntu (and derivatives) or Fedora are good choices for distributions.
Just don't distro hop find one you like and stick with it they're all largely the same.
It's the best OS of all time
The only valid complaint is privacy. But my problem with the privacy argument is the following: switching to distro won't make you gain privacy. You're still being spied on by Google, your own ISP and many others, most of which are relaying their data to Microsoft as well.
So, if I have no choice, I might as well pick the best OS.
>update
lol
Cool. Would you like an introduction to statistics and why your spastic anecdote means nothing?
it is shit but it is the best OS out there
I'd do it but I'm also a zoomer who likes multiplayer games and linux still hasn't figured out how to anticheat
You eventually end up using Debian for servers and Windows + Debian on WSL for desktops, except in large businesses where you replace Debian with RHEL for the support.
I need it for work (Adobe / Office)
Besides, it works fine.
First thing I got when I switched from w7 to w10 was that everything was slower, particularly transfering files. Like incredibly slower. Also, it wasn't compatible with older programs like w7 did flawlessly.
W7 just werked once you had all your drivers installed
same
I think you have it the other way around, devs haven't figured out how to not be fucking corporate hostages and make a Linux version of their anticheat
for me it's Kubuntu
Ubuntu does what it does. By going to glitchier bullshit with less support you're giving yourself the same headaches if windows 10 did .
Just get rid of it again you whiney retard
>Whaaaa not candy crush! Whatever will I do! Fuck microsoooooooft!!!!!!
The only things bad are the updates I read about on forums (solved if you wait a while to install them) and the countless viruses made specifically for Windows (Solved if you are careful what you download and where you browse). Other than this, it is not bad. I have two computers. I have used both. I use Win because it has the most commercial support.
>that /g/ thread where anons where fighting with one another over some distros not having auto updates
my friend did the same and always beg me to come to his home fixing his fucking piece of shit OS.
>Also, it wasn't compatible with older programs like w7 did flawlessly
Fuck you nigger, clearly never had XP
Linux is only free if you dont value your time
why wouldn't every distro have auto updates?
just put your package manager's update command in your crontab
Yes.
The Death Stranding being "W10 only" is already a big push, but not enough to make me do a full transition yet. I guess I'll manage with W7 for another year or two.
Not to mention you can literally insert commands via PowerShell which will permanently block them from re-installing.
Literally the most stable OS I've ever used
>t. I had 4 years of DOS classes that are completely useless nowadays
where did this normie meme start?
Death Stranding is already in game on Linux, don't know how playable though.
W10 only it is not.
autoupdate on most distros is suicidal.
they were saying it should be like windows and how it does updates and not going to sites just to install packages
literally the most dangerous OS I've ever used.
t: started with W3.1
that's exactly the point
Works for me. Actually it didn't. One update kinda broke the install and needed manual intervention to fix booting. Never happened with previous Windows versions.
Edge is Chrome but with a proprietary skin
Is there any reason to switch to W10 when I have W7?
Just upgrade back to Windows 7 if you can. It's just perfect straight out of the box.
There's a great os hidden behind Microsoft bullshit and horrible user interface.
This argument is retarded and show your lack of awareness.
Privacy isn't an on/off problem, is about having control ever what you want to share over which program/service, giving power to the user over software and not the other way around.
Having a campfire in your backyard isn't the same as your whole house burning to the ground.
I had zero security issues, other than my ISP selling Congolese routers that try to ping back home once in a while.
the absolute truth
where is it?
it will eventually not be supported anymore, it's not a matter of if, but when
in my personal experience w10 had a rocky start but they really fixed it with updates, i never get crashes, freezes and blue screens like i used to on xp and 7
True. I hope Gayben forces devs to start implementing linux compatible anticheat soon
Nope, aside from potentially bricking your computer if it's a bit older
I've been running W7 since 2011 and I can count the BSODs with the fingers of my left hand alone.
Meanwhile, the half a year I had to suffer of Wee10 on a business laptop was a trial of endless suffering. Not to mention the UIX is abysmal, heavy, and really hinders the work flow.
The support already ended 7 months ago
how
i was using kubuntu for a few months and it just fails when installing almost everything
switched to ubuntu and everything is working perfectly
>running W10 on a 5 year old 'business' laptop
Yeah, there's your problem dude
But Windows is the campfire of privacy breaching. They're harvesting anonymized data (this is very important, it's anonymized) that's being mixed with the data of BILLIONS of other computers.
So here is the trade off: I can choose to remove that small breach, but in exchange I need to abstain from using the best operating system and instead switch to some hot garbage that can't even install something without unholy rituals. And my data is still being harvested by much worse threats than Microsoft, like fucking Google, a company that tracks the locations you have been in (you can literally see all these locations in your privacy google page, they had stuff I've been at several years ago). It's not worth it.
probable in 1995 and then they kept using it until now despite it being borderline outdated
that's why Microsoft forced updates on normalfags, because these fuckers never update anything by themselves
>use same windows 10 as everyone else
>don't have issues
>only different is the inputs given to the system by the user
Hmmm, makes me think it's an Error Between Keyboard and Chair.
it's just ubuntu with kde, what were you installing?
VAC has other problems
while it does work on Linux it's considered more or less a joke
can you even use VAC outside of Source games?
But that's how it already is?
>muh privacy
literally everything around you steals some data of yours
yes, I have a few VAC games in my library that aren't source.
Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed is one.
wine
in the last days it even gave me errors on the auto updates
That's my point user
Also as long as the data is anonymized why should we care?
You shouldn't. Enjoy your serfdom.
>is it time to move to Linux?
I already did, and I won't pretend it's for everyone, but for people who like single-player games and whose knowledge of computers extends beyond the use of Facebook and YouTube, it's fine.
