I like Street Fighter V more than IV at this point but Marvel 3 kicks the shit out of both

Best theme coming through

That's not Tron.

this'll be a quick thread because youre right
tekken 7 is okay but it's mechanically massively flawed when compared to other entries in the series, dont even start on the DLC
SF5 is good, just not great. DLC here is a little less pay to win
the other games dont count because ive never played them lol

but yes, aside from Morrigan making the game touhou and the entire concept of vergil, its the best fighting game of this generation, easy

UMvC3 would be GOAT if they updated some characters, namely nerfing Vergil and Zero and buffing HsienKo Iron Fist and Wright.

No.

Fuck Virgil though, boring ass nigga.

It bothers me a lot that the "broken" stuff in vanilla 3 at least required team synergy like Wolvie/Akuma/Wesker, but in Ultimate it's just "Vergil." Ultimate needed longer in the oven, or to get another patch/update. Definitely a rush job to push more Marvel licenses.

guess I forgot Dark Phoenix, that shit was stupid too

UMvC3 is my favorite fighting game but multiple good ones released since. Killer Instinct, SoulCal VI, Power Rangers, SamSho, etc.
That's not Hawkeye, Nova, Strange, Thor, MODOK, or Hulk though.

> Not including Captain America or Dr. Doom's themes in that list
Heresy.

UMvC3 relies a lot more on team synergy. In Vanilla, everybody ran Akuma, Tron, Phoenix, or Haggar in the back. The most powerful builds in Ultimate are generally built on a strong shell; Morridoom for example. Zero May Cry exists because Jam Session & Rapid Slash cover a lot of bases and all three characters have an Install which makes DHCs really freeform. You never see Vergil & Phoenix on the same team (or Morrigan with either outside of RyanLV's extremely well-crafted team) because they desire tons of meter to function. You'd be surprised how many characters appeared in the Top 8s of majors and how much variety major-winning teams have had if you look at its history.

The main problems came from Vergil being a nearly ideal anchor for almost any shell, Doom being the glue that can hold together literally any two characters you desire and actually kind of necessary for some characters to function properly (Spidey cannot be run optimally without Missiles), too many characters being completely shut-out by Darkness Illusion Morrigan and Magneto Repulsion, and Zero being far and away the best Point in the game because Buster mechanics grant him probably the most robust hitconfirm game of any fighting game character ever made. Phoenix at least has counterplay.

Cap's theme isn't as good as the versions he's had in say MSH or MvC1. The only Marvel-side remixes that I'd call flat-out upgrades are Doom's & Hulk's. Tony's theme is actually War Machine's MvC1 theme, oddly enough.

Why won't they port 2 onto modern consoles?

I NEED MORE POWER

Their current deal with Marvel is probably limited. They got that Arcade 1-Up cabinet out but that's about it. Also if it got re-ported but lacked rollback it'd probably get trashed.

Ideally, we should get a Collection like they did with SF with CotA/MSH/XMvSF/MvC1/MvC2. MSHvSF can come too but I wouldn't mind if it was left out. Maybe add in the Punisher beat-em-up with online co-op as a bonus.

Mvc3 makes me sad. I tried it, and I have no idea what the fuck is going on the screen, and why is everything flying everywhere, like wtf, how do you keep up?

My local has SF vs XMen and Marvel vs Capcom 2 and I love both. I suppose I could just emulate on a computer but I still wish there'd be an official port of either

I hear Fightcade just got Dreamcast support so MvC2 is on there now.

Incorrect. DBFZ is very good. I still prefer MvC, but DBFZ's level of fun should not be discounted. If Roshi isn't in this season of DLC I will commit sudoku.

I'm pissed the trial for SFV only has the base roster. I want to try the new characters to see if the game is fun now. Fuck you Capcom I'll go buy Tekken or SolCal now

Make sure the shit filling the screen is mostly your own shit.

Really? I got an ad for the trial and it said 40 characters.

I like MvC, but I was never a big fan of it because it felt too chaotic to go into a match with a real team and gameplan. Probably doesn't help that in 3 I played Akuma, Morrigan, Dante, and then switched out Akuma for Vergil in U. DBF feels a lot tighter and the way its tags work appeal more to me. I hope future vs games take team comps into mind more than the appeal of having all sorts of stuff on the screen.

Is a fan revision possible?

Samsho is better.
Smash Ultimate is better.

SF IV blows. SFV is decent but none of these games are better than the originals. 3D was a fucking mistake for a genre that hasn't evolved at all since Smash Bros.

I installed it and it only gave me the base roster. It seems if you already own it you get the full roster as a trial

UMvC3 had team comps matter way more than pre-S3 FighterZ. The balance and limited assist selection put characters into very rigid roles, with most being Points that were worse Points than the S-Tier Points. Now there's way more viable Mids and more good Anchors, but in Marvel 3 you had to put together a strong Shell, especially because of how DHCs worked, even if you could just slap Vergil or Doom or Magneto next to them and be fine most of the time.

PC version opened up modding but the main guy that's putting out revisions is focusing on variant characters IIRC, although I think he's done some balance changes. He's already made Evil Ryu, STARS Wesker (less shadow shit, more guns), Orange Hulk (mostly the same except he has air Gamma Charge and fire effects on stuff), Shadow Lady, Wolverine Laura (X-23 with some of Logan's moves added), and Red She-Hulk (described as being similar to Sol Badguy).

I

The game might have to finish installing it's in-game update. It's retarded; SF5 has a seperate update aside from Steam / PS4. Give it another go to make you didn't miss anything. The trial has every character for free for everyone, new and old players alike.

The demo on the ps4 says this
"Play as 16 unique characters and explore their personal stories, then learn their distinct moves and take the fight online via the Capcom Fighters Network"

I hate the fact that I can hear this even without sound
