Are any of these VNs worth reading?
World End Syndrome
>Are any VNs worth reading?
No
...
no read Muv Luv
Our World Has Ended was pretty fun.
I've heard Our world is ended is a shitty knock off of Steins;Gate and not worth it. Haven't played song of memories. I have played World End Syndrome and it's good as long as you go in with the right expectations. It hypes itself up as a psychologica horror/thriller/romance, however it's more of a slice of life/romance VN with a dash of horror mystery that doesn't come back into play until the end of each route. I was disappointed to find it wasn't as spooky or mysterious as I was hoping, especially because the first ending you get is a bad one that presents a lot of questions, lets you know there's a murderer on the loose and has two dead characters. Immediately afterwards the intensity drops and you casually roam around the town and date a girl like nothing happened. The art and music are friggin fantastic, but the lack of intensity and mystery was off putting to me at first. It has a strong emotional finish and I would honestly still recommend it. It was a 6/10 for me at first, but the more I think about it and accept it as a casual romance VN it became a 8/10. There's supposed to be a sequel coming out sometime. I'm hoping this go around they can balance the horror appropriately. They were in the ballpark, but couldn't get the grandslam.
World End Syndrome is pretty bad. There's like two sprites for each character which really shows up how cheap it is. You're supposed to be investigating a murder but no-one really cares. There's no way you can get to an ending without a guide as you need to be in a certain spot at a certain time of day to talk to a person. The resolution to the story requires the main character hide information from the reader for the 'twist' to work.
Our World is Ended I got about 2 hours in before giving up. Each character is a stereotype of an anime character. Dumb childhood friend with big breasts, eccentric chuunibyou, angry flat chested sister, quiet goth chick, loli that's actually 18 yet behaves like she's 8. I suppose it's trying to be like Steins;Gate with the science gone crazy stuff, but I couldn't get into it.
Not played the other one.
Why is this so obviously western?
muvluv is shit
Already have
One I've got my eye on is Root Film. It's the next game following Root Letter and right out the gate it sounds so much better than Letter.
>it's a murder mystery
>the protag has an actual name and a face
>he'll have a partner along so he's not talking to himself with walls of text monologues
I thought it was funny when the developer mentioned that the previous protag wasn't that popular. What did you expect? The guy has no face, he's generic as fuck and he's constantly by himself repeating what the reader already knows. Raging loop had the same problem, so many times the protag was generating walls upon walls of monologue text.
I don't know about the other 2 but Our World Is Ended definitely is not.
You know those "you're a pervert, it's a misunderstanding" gags you see in any romcom slice of life anime? Now imagine entire VN with just those happening in every scene. Every fucking scene.
I think the concept wasn't too bad but I couldn't stomach reading that shit.
Incorrect, whatever edgy loliroge torture porn you prefer is shit
Sounds as bad as Index. The overarching plot was interesting, but there were so many damn "Pervert!" moments.
the fuck youre talking about? Its Jap developed
For now I've only unlocked the normal ending on Song of Memories
>VN thread
Anons, recommend me VNs I probably never heard of, that you really liked
I stumbled onto these 2 by mere chance

and I want to know your lucky finds
It wouldn’t be japanese if it wasn’t formulaic to some degree.
I take it your a yuri fan? I've played mostly mainstream stuff, I've already given my two cents on World End Syndrome, but another I've played that never gets talked about it Death Mark. Solve 5 spirit cases while trying to find the spirit that gave you a mark that will kill you in a couple days. It's got a majorly spooky vibe, a short sweet mystery plot, interesting characters, and some solid puzzles. The sequel improves the characters even more, but loses a bit of the puzzle solving and exploration.
Lucy is alright
428 Shibuya Scramble is pretty good except everything about Canaan
How is it?
>to some degree
You have no idea what you're comparing this to.
>World End Syndrome
It's okay, it has the comfiest backgrounds I ever saw in a VN.
I prefer another game they made, "Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunter". Pic Related.
>Our World is Ended
Didn't played it yet.
>Song of Memories
Bad. Don't play it. The battle system is fucking annoying, every route once the *spoiler* happen are the fucking same and there's no true ending which gives the game a real sense of "why did I played this trash?"
The only thing this game got is one funny scene, a cake wearing a sweater with cleavage and smug whores.
I wanted to get into Ghost hunters but the "gameplay" filtered me hard
>Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunter
I'd heard of that one, I didn't know that was them as well. I agree on the backgrounds. Dynamic backgrounds bring so much more life to a visual novel.

>sunset shining through the train
>mellow as hell music
Top tier cozy.
Okay it wouldn’t be japanese if it wasn’t 95% creatively bankrupt
not bed. Until the normal ending it's a simple high school life. The real shit will happen after it. But I think there's better around
I could never get into Death Mark. The protagonist just felt incredibly dumb. And with everyone else praising him as some sort of genius was very annoying. NG, is much better like you've said. You mentioned worse puzzles, but they are rather trivial in both games. You're not reading these to feel smart.
You will never convince me western devs will ever make a good yuri vn.
so just like all modern fiction
>that pic
Fuck this innocent shit, it only evokes more pain in contrast to reality
haha boobs
Alternative was shit. Muv Luv was decent, especially the first part.
