SOON BROTHERS
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series to be announced on September 9th
Apparently the RTX3080ti will cost $3k Trump Bucks. I hope this shit is false, but we are talking about the "the more you buy the more you save" company.
I can't build a new PC until AM5 drops.
starting for a cheap $600
If its anything above 900 then its gonna be a no from me.
>soon
>1 month from tomorrow
are you stupid OP ?
3080 ti will likely be priced similarly to the previous 80 ti cards. The 3090 though, that could easily cost 3 grand.
Is xx90 the new name for Titan cards?
There's no reason to upgrade yet
Pretty sure the 3090 is just a Titan yeah. I guess Nvidia's dropping the Titan label.
Nah, I'm going with AMD. I've heard about the driver issues, but I've personally never experienced them, and Nvidia can go fuck itself with its proprietary bullshit.
I'll only consider AMD if
>DX9 games are fine now
>They're still superior at DX12 and Vulkan
>They have a DLSS type tech for newer AAAs
>they really don't start crashing and bitching everyday
Nah, F AMD for gpus. Nvidia will be producing the top of the line cards. If you're buying a PC you want it to be future proof. They can't compete with Nvidia in the GPU space which is why they're putting a lot of their R&D on processors instead.
>DX9 games are fine now
This is one of those issues I've heard of yet never encountered. Did it only affect a certain subset of cards? My R9 390X has been behaving just fine for all the years that I've had it. The only exception was that a single driver would cause crashes when playing Overwatch, but rolling it back fixed it, and later drivers didn't have that problem. One driver issue over 4-5 years of use is pretty acceptable, honestly.
>They're still superior at DX12 and Vulkan
Vulkan is AMD's baby, isn't it? Pretty sure that's always going to be the case.
>They have a DLSS type tech for newer AAAs
They already have image sharpening stuff that does just as good of a job, at least in the comparisons I've seen. Outside of curated screenshots, I've yet to see any reason to think of DLSS as anything more than a stupid, overrated meme
You realize 'future proofing' is a meme term right? All technology is outdated by the time it hits the consumer market.
99% of consumers do not fit in the the high end market, so saying AMD isn't relevant because they don't make the fastest gpu's is a retarded argument.
>They're still superior at Vulkan
For now, but 30xx looks like will be good with Vulkan(looking at beta Vulkan drivers, they might get released somewhere around 30xx series)
>>DX9 games are fine now
Honestly, Windows 10 gives me so many problems with DX9 and 8 that I just run those games through DXVK for Windows.
Will it make the 1660 or 2060 drop in price ?
you are a complete fucking idiot and should have your computer taken away from you.
what proprietary bullshit?
The most popular GPUs are mid/low end so I don't see your point.
Are the problems you're talking about performance or presentation related? I wanted to play UT2004 with a low end amd card I got, but it performs abysmally worse than the geforce 6200 I once had from 2005. I think the further we get, the more optimizations intended for dx9 are just emulated to not break compatibility but aren't actually there on newer cards so older games perform worse than current ones.
just imagine your life after you spend 3k on graphics.
cope
BIG NAVI is coming
is there ANY game that actually utilized the raytracing tech? this whole thing seems like one of this kickstarters but it's actually Nvidia
>announced
I'm looking forward to the release in August 2025.
Just get a ps5 if you're that poor that you can't afford a fucking 1660 lmao
I can't wait to buy a 3050 for the low price of $500
This is probably the only person in this thread that accurately understands PC building/specs. Everyone else is a retarded brandwar instigating faggot.
No, you just added another retard to the thread.
Don't forget the nvidia tip bro
Any leaks on the price range?
more expensive than AMD
Ray tracing is literally PhysX 2.0
A good idea ruined by Nvidia's proprietary bull shit schemes.
FFFFUUUUCK YEAS
gonna retire my gtx 1080 or give it to my sister
with all the new hype about those new psus n shit the 3090 is gonna draw a crazy amount of power i betcha
The new shrouds look retarded af
Not really. The 2000 series was basically early access, but for gpus.
649 dollar for a 3060, 799 for a 3070, 999 for a 3080, 1599 for a 3080ti and 3199 for a 3090
Damn it, I just bought at 2070 last year to upgrade my 970. Should've known the upgrade was right around the corner.
>970
shouldve upgrade to a 1080 2 years ago user
Not really, as usual Nvidiot is trying to force proprietary BS to completely normal tech advancements. RT-like tech to improve graphics are going to be used but not at all in the bruteforce way that Nvidia claim they should be used.
So the majority of games in the future will likely use Nvidia's (and AMD's) RT cores but for raytraced effects that are significantly lighter than what the Ampere GPUs are going to be designed for (light enough for the PS5 which is shit at RT)
Basically it's like PhysX as user said.
I'll still likely buy Nvidia again but it's not gonna be because of the RT. DLSS is the bigger deal but that's also gonna be supported by everyone.
I'm still using a 480 and while it runs everything it's not 144hz.
?
