Couldn't care less about the style, it looks fresh and we haven't seen properly how it looks in motion. That being said, I'm worried by what Yu said in recent video about all that multiplayer crap nobody has ever given a fuck about. And I also want to know what took them so long: game seemed playable two whopping years ago, in August 2018.

I think you're right, actually. I think that's why I gravitate towards the Spelunky 2 characters that have non-traditional eyes, such as Colin and red helmet guy.
I do think it works for spelunky gal, but the others look weird.

initially I thought I would hate the desaturated tile-art but in the new trailer it became clear that the reason they did that was to contrast it against the full-saturation player characters.
I'm not convinced it's necessary but there does seem to be an absolute fucktonne going on on-screen at any given moment
