I pirate games i can't get ahold of anymore because nobody bothered making more of the older consoles at a reasonable price. if i like the game enough i tend to buy it because it feels more "Legit" than pirating. but for older games that got fucked by bad licensing practices or a lack of usable consoles, I just pirate them.

I do like the trend of games now being filled with obscene fluff and grind on purpose and then shilling effectively a skip to now overworked gen x/millenials with less time than before to get them to pay again for the great ability to skip gameplay.
