Post-TS One Piece is a series of short manga using the Strawhats as recurring characters, like Tezuka's star system or the Lupin III crew. Their arcs were basically all resolved by the TS. There was nowhere else for it to go.
I prefer the old comics, but it's worth understanding that One Piece stopped being a serial drama focused on those characters and that's fine. They had a decade long comic.
