It's boring cause esports made competition about the brand and not the skill. Plus everyone just copies the big 3 if someone does make an fps. Csgo cod fortnite. Makes sense when you see Titanfall get shit on hard.

I'm getting a bit better at it. I'm sinking time info Path of Exile and forcing myself to actually read mods on items and skills and whatnot. At first it seemed overwhelming but now it's not so bad.

The whole point of the brain is that it's flexible as fuck, do enough of a thing and it will become comfortable to you. Pushing yourself makes it look easier, even reaction times can be refined over time

It's a lot less set into stone than you think.
Just stop flailing in action games and actually break down the game a bit into understandable chunks.

Figure out basic combos you'll do often, figure out which enemies typically are too fat/armored to hitstun or juggle so they need short length max damage combos, and make sure to use whatever the game mechanic is to the best like Witch Time in Bayonetta. Souls games are pretty braindead as well as long as your brainlet blind run build doesn't peter out, but that's still easy to avoid just by pumping only one or two attack stats and the rest into health/stamina stats

you were probably never really focused, just going through the motions. i mean, they aren't vastly different. it's a similar skillset. most shooters are easier to cheese while zoned out though.

I focused pretty intently on shooters. I don't think they're similar skill sets at all. Action games require no aiming or map knowledge and shooters require no understanding of parrying, dodging, iframes, timing, ect.
