So... I just finished this. My thoughts:

Naughty God has done it. Again.

You know that, at the end of every gen, there are always a couple of titles that outstand among everything else and actually LOOK/PLAY as a next-gen game. It happened with Conker on the og xbox, Black on the PS2, hell or even coincidentially with TLoU 1 on the PS3, but ND with Part II has set the bar higher. Once again, by a large margin.

Take a look at RE3R, released 3 months earlier, for instance. Both 2020 games. The difference is just abysmal. Ridiculous. At one point as I was playing it I had to check the cover art box, for I thought I was playing a PS3 game after experiencing TLoU

Part II is this gen's turning point. It says: that's it. Wrap it up. We can't do any more than this, at all.

From a graphical, sound, acting, and gameplay mechanics, to its complex and heart-searching thematical, storytelling standpoints, this game holds the highest of standards and sets the mold for what should be the next generation of AAA games.

lol transgender people exist therefore it bad

I lol'd.

>the absolute state of this post
this game truly filters the thinking man from the slow-witted

this entire thread is retards baiting retards

Assuming you're just not baiting for (You)s and you want an actual discussion on this game, what exactly does it do then that sets it apart from other games "by a large margin"?
You didn't provide any real evidence for your argument, just baseless praise.

>m-merely pretending
Too late, you just proved the haters of this game are either low iq mongrels or poltards

Nice pasta faggot.

Do people really think TLOU2 looks good?
Besides some player models it looks like a PS3 game
>corridor
>dark corridor
>apartment
>monotone building
>dark monotone building
>forest corridor

This is the power of the PS4...?

no other videogame has ever provided such a visceral experience as TLOU Part II and that's a fact
The game employs its tech to create a world that is as realistic and believable as our own (more than any VR simulation ever could) and then used such realism and immersiveness to put you in the shoes of what is essentially a demon in your eyes, to hammer the point home that as despicable as someone might seem to us, they are still human
If that's not art I don't know what is

>no other video-game has ever provided such a visceral experience as TLOU Part II and that's a fact

That is an opinion, especially since visceral is generally a misused buzzword commonly used by shills

You can apply reductionism in every game and calling it bad, it's not a fair, objective critique

Lol when was the last time you left your basement?

Your grammar is off from OP's so I doubt you're being earnest with your opinion.
And even if you are OP, it still doesn't answer what exactly TLOU2 does to make it "the mold for what should be the next generation of AAA games".

Not trolling by the way. I actually want to talk about video games, and I'd very much challenge the notion that ND is setting a standard anymore.
In fact, I would argue their theory of game design is outdated.

are you even trying

Hey faggot, let me tell you something, I'm actually supportive of the "movie" fake video games thing. Video games should be allowed to be about story, there's literally nothing wrong with that. The problem is that the last of us 2 embarrassed itself and told a shit story that jew critics will praise it until it wins goty, it will be funny at the very least, but one day you actually have to look at the game that you shitposters are shilling.

So you like garbage Op. That is fine, but dont try preaching garbage is good lols, makes you look stupid.

>The game employs its tech to create a world that is as realistic and believable as our own
>dilapidated rundown rooms that have been looted several times still somehow have life saving equipment and medicine lying around in the most obvious places and unopened safes with the combination written down on notes five feet away

That's not realistic or believable. It looks good, maybe that's what you were going for.

>and then used such realism and immersiveness
Not having any input on anything that's going on is not immersive. The game constantly taking control away from you shoving you into scripted situations is not immersive. The game constantly jumping trough timelines and characters is not immersive, it's very not immersive. This is how movies and books work, not immersive video games.

> to put you in the shoes of what is essentially a demon in your eyes, to hammer the point home that as despicable as someone might seem to us, they are still human

Morally ambiguous characters players have sympathized or liked have been done since the dawn of video games. Good writers don't need to pause the game for 12 hours and kill the pacing to make you go on an unrelated quest of saving the trannies and petting the doggos. Good writers can do that in much shorter time and more natural way

You aren't fooling anyone Neil.

Are like 3 people making the same threads everyday and responding to each other? I'm really starting to believe this with how frequent and how samey all TLOU2 threads have been recently

Attached: 1539644233550.jpg (323x326, 16.01K)

yes, they're the same people.

Didn't sony themselves strike pictures and videos of the ending as soon as they got leaked here?
It is VERY likely that these threads are from actual people paid to shill the game

*block's your path*

Unfortunately with current state Zig Forums you have to assume everything is a shitpost, but on the slight chance that there are actually anons ITT who played AND enjoyed TLOU2, I want to share this little melancholic song that is based off Ellie's diary entries towards the end.

I'm actually sobbing at this audible masterpiece, I really wholeheartedly appreciate your contribution, user

Beautiful, mate. Really enjoyed it.

Thank you for your kind words anons. The praise you give this piece of art has encouraged me to post this in every TLOU2 thread in the future - more people should hear about Ellie's tragic story eternalized in the form of song.

Time will prove this game right, that is for sure, art takes time to be fully acknowledged

Actually agree with this. It was an immensely absorbing experience. Abby Day 2 stretch into finale was firing on all cylinders, non-stop.

Game is a masterpiece. I dare anyone to criticize it without sounding like a reddit markov chain.

RDR2 came out 2 years ago user. Rockstar unironically does a better job at next gen before next gen thing. This is especially true since even GTA5 doesn't look dogshit compared to other 2013 games at the time besides Crysis 3.

nah, rockstar game design is outdated, go to point a to point b lost its appeal 10 years ago
