What does it do?

Up to the devs, really.

Grounded looks like it's supposed to be light hearted fun, so having the option is fine. But having it in something like souls would be fucking retarded

>super not okay
S O Y

I'm generally more creeped out by spiders that are smaller than me that can skulk in areas I don't notice, so big ones in games literally don't phase me at all.

Is arachnophobia even triggered by non-vr vidya?

This option is for the most part a marketing tool, OP. There have been 50 articles about Grounded's Arachnophobia mode. Gives websites something to write about and draw attention to the game.

I'm absolutely god damn fucking terrified of sharks and I would not change REmake for a thing

>super not okay

If it doesn't affect the difficulty who the fuck cares. Video games aren't self improvement books retard.

i'm terrified of spiders but why the fuck would i piss myself over some in a game? why the fuck would anyone care?

>REEEE DONT USE THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE USE CANTONESE FUKKING WHITE PIG
Not today Chen.

I remember some people couldn't play skyrim because of the frostbite spiders.
I have a fear of deep dark water but i almost beat subnautica.
So i guess people just have to want to play it.

>scared as fuck of bugs in general irl
>so scared of them that I can’t even spray a cockroach without shaking from fear
>can play EDF no problem
Nah fuck those people. Vidya =/= real life. I ain’t scared of no 3d models

the spiders in satisfactory trigger me, first game that's done it for me in a long time. they make this god awful skittering noise, come out of trees out of nowhere, at run at you erratically at sanic speeds.

Are we forgetting that it's an option...therefore, if you don't care about it, you can simply...leave it turned off....Nevermind.

You play as teens in the game. It's supposed to be shit they would say.

Why should games require that?

>racism
That's super not okay, user.

>super not okay
fucking hell

It's language to try and convince young kids to not do it and face the fear. How would you convey that?

no teenager talks like that, only 20 to 30 year old soi boys and thots speak like that.

Saying you are scared of something should double the number of those enemies.

This. Because of this

Its dumb.
But i would like an option to take out the Black protags in all these new games that are coming next gen. Give me that option

first it puts you in a settings menu that has a large spider in full view
changing the setting gradually turns it into a misshapen blob that is scary to all humans, not just arachnophobes

>Anti Arachnofobia mode actually makes them scarier
WTF Microsof?

BASEDPER BASEDOT SOYK

>Zig Forums gets triggered at certain wording
How are you dumb faggots any different from fat sjws on Twitter again?

>This games contains heights that are often much larger than the player. If you're super not okay with that, you can enable Acrophobia Safe Mode in the Accesibility options

Not even being able to face your fears in a completely safe and fictional scenario will probably only make you worse in the long-run. I used to be bothered by heights even in games but it didn't stop and now it doesn't bother me anymore. I think you help people more by having them face their fears and overcoming them rather than shielding them forever.

>add a 'Phobia-safe' mode that claims to 'attempt to avoid as many phobia triggers as possible'
>it just puts you in a grey, featureless room that is not too small or too large to avoid claustrophobia or agoraphobia
>your character is a featureless blob that can't even move because movement might trigger motion sickness
>There are no sounds because certain sounds might trigger unwanted reactions
>you just sit in the room with nothing in it and do nothing and are thus safe from triggering any and all phobias

I'm not trying to get the game banned so there's that,

Sounds like something a lot of posters here might want

>You don't think I'm scary, right user? Hey why are you going into the options menu...

they bother me less than real ones but i still hate them. the ones in the old resident evil games especially creep me the fuck out.

>choices bad
There is literally nothing wrong with having an option to turn off any settings the play won't probably like. Mods would probably give that option in the future, why whine about it now.

No, you're just trying to keep people away from it by being a little bitch about words
Much better.

>talk like faggot
>get called out for being faggot
>h-heh triggered again!
