The song and animation were fucking amazing. That fucking iaido duel between WoL and Zenos was kino as fuck. Honestly the whole trailer was god-tier to me, but the opening segment was fantastic. I completely sympathize. I love paladins and I'm sick of them being cornholed into 0 dps tanks.
A true Paladin has a two handed sword that glows with holy power, and righteously smites evils with big dick DPS. Fuck tanking, fuck healing.
Okay fine, tanking is okay in a pinch to protect others but Paladin's MAIN JOB should always be DPS. MMOs got it fucking wrong.
I'd just glam the shield away and equip it nayway though. Muh stats.

Purple logs aren't hard to get once you know a fight. As long as you don't die, you can even fuck up your rotation a bit and still reach purple.
Honestly the easiest way to get a static if you don't want to fill out gay applications is to fill for partial statics at the launch of a new raid tier. You're likely to get picked up if you play well.
