I do but the next huge moment in fighting genre won't be until SF6 gets released.

Because I've been playing 3s for almost 10 years now and I'm tired of it.

I want to play something new but ALL new fighters have totally dogshit netcode compared to ggpo/fightcade. All the arcades near me are dead, I don't really have any other options.

I'm bad at them, and have no desire to "git gud" because there's no enjoyment to be gained from them to me

>getting tired of 3s
shiggy diggy

This. We don't even have a local scene anymore because of covid, but we lost our last arcade years ago, and doing shit in a tcg store just isn't the same.

And to think that there are people that think k.i is a good fighting game kek game has garbage normals, 50/50 shitfest, horrible juggles

I don't like games where every character has significantly different button inputs. I don't want to devote 40 hours to a game just so I can be good with one character. Also, I'm so so far behind the curve at this point that I'd have to tolerate getting raped online 1,000 times before I could start winning. Honestly though, their biggest crime is that they simply aren't very fun.

>Every Alex on Fightcade still tries to do this to people
>They all quit when they realize you know how to OS against it

I'm white

Been playing on FC2. I only really play with friends tho. I wish someone would make a FC for all those doujin fighters.
What's the best way to play Blitzkampf? I've been wanting to try it for a while.

They are fun, just not for you. They require certain competitive mindset, meanwhile your preferences seem to be all about "easy" and "effortless."

What a fitting description of akat players
Not counting the image ofc

I didn't actually think I would like fighting games for the same reason. I just thought they weren't fun.
But then I realized that the enjoyment you get out of the game is totally up to you. The most you physically "get" out of fighting games is a banner next to your name. The actual enjoyment you get is intrinsically knowing that you have actually improved at something.

>have almost 50 hours in uniclr
>still don't know who i want to main
i feel like i'm falling behind because i haven't just picked a character and stuck with it

i'm learning arakune so that everyone finally quits bbcf

I occasionally play them, but i suck

I would not play fighting games if it was only about improving at something. I play fighting games because I enjoy direct skill-based competition with psychological elements. Matches against good players are intense and you get completely lost in the fight as you focus on both your execution, setups and reading your opponent. When the round is over, you "wake up" back to reality momentarily, something no other competitive genre in gaming offers. In MMORPGs/RPGs it is all about rather brainless skill rotation and too lenient cooldowns, in FPS it is all about just pointing and clicking while trying to stay safe, in RTS the whole process is just factual calculation.

The joy of improving and all that is just a bonus but I wouldn't want to get good at something I don't enjoy. I never wanted to get good at fighting games, I just became good when I had so much fun that I played a lot.

I might start playing 3s now that FC2 is really solid, desu. I could never deal with the insane lag and black bars so I just stuck to SNK fighters and a little super turbo and a3 on the old fightcade. Anyone want to play something fc2?

Yeah that's true. Really good competition like that in FGs is like nothing else. I just tried to make my reply geared towards noncompetitive people that want to get into fighting games.

I think that anyone, even noncompetitive people, will eventually find a player that they get the experience from that you're talking about and then they'll realize what FG are all about.

I do, I'm just terrible at them. And no one besides me nearby plays UMvC3.

>Get Guilty Gear XX R Plus for Switch because $10, why not?
>Online's dead
I think a mistake was made. Oh well, o have Rev 2 on my PS-
>Rev 2 online is dead
FUCK

Fightcade's netcode is good but nothing special compared to other GGPO games
I just finished a global-minus-asia entry tournament in TFH and I didnt once have to set the delay higher than 1.
Skullgirls, TFH, Killer Instinct, Melty Blood, and apparently FEXL now have good rollback.

I mostly agree with this. It's a genre that actually requires a lot of very different skills and players all have a different balance of what they're good at. I think the whole package is pretty unlike any other genre in that there's such a prominent psychological level that very clearly manefests once both players are at a competent level and can play with intentional instead of just trying to do the basics successfully. It's something a beginner won't really see though.

I think it's always quite interesting how people's personalities always manifest in some way when they're playing fighting games. I'm pretty confident I could identify a lot of players I know even if they were not playing their usual characters or with visible usernames just by how they're playing, how they approach problems and what they're strong and weak at.

I would play but I'm watching retardy at the moment

based legend

where did you get it from for 10 bucks? tell me and I'll buy it and we can play

have you used fightcade 2?

It's on sale on the Switch eshop.

The new games are great too. We can now play CvS2, MvC2, KoFXI and Fist of the North Star with good netcode and easily find players, Crazy.
