>only way to level up def is to be bad at the game
amazing
>only way to level up def is to be bad at the game

You're inevitably going to take damage because the game has no actual combat mechanics.
Also you can pay trainers.
>retards never figured out that basing at the right time staggered enemies
why do you niggers always have to game a fucking rpg? literally just play the damn game
If you are not getting hit then you don't need armor. Not a difficult concept for a normal functioning human to grasp.
>game has no actual combat mechanics
Are you mentally retarded?
>OP is a retarded faggot
amazing
game has barebone combat mechanics
he probably only played the tutorial quest escaping the dragon and only knows how to mash R2/L click to swing sword and spam a flame thrower, and never actually leveled up skills in armor, shields, or spell casting.... or played higher than easy diff.
>be good at game
>don't get hit
>spend skills in things that actually matter
woah hold the fuck up
Lmao xD user I Don't care. But you know what.??? Why don't you ""play"" with my dick, your mouth is the game! XD
Putting perks into armor skills is a waste.
what if my character has really good smt and armor rating what I'm I supposed to do huh sit there and let the enemy wail on me again and again so I get those stacking def skills how inconvenience
>all this pretending that skyrim takes thought
i hope its because you played the game first at a pivotal age like middle school or high school.
Surprizing thing is some people have 100 in both heavy and light armor.
its been awhile since I played but if you run a shield you should level up the armor skill attributed to the shield
It's all about wearing the highest tier materials and getting wacked by high damage attacks.
Put on a set of dragonplate or dragonscale and getting mauled by a couple bears, optimally while casting restore spells, will max out the skills relatively quick.
You can raise block the same way too, though it's even better since you can block giant club swings without getting launched into space.
Once you get an armor rating of like 200 the attack itself fails to actually kill you outright anyway
Go back we don’t want your kind here
/thread
>open console
>set defense 255
???
>light armor can hit the armor cap if you level smithing so heavy armor is effectively useless outside of RP and the unarmed bonus which is useless because unarmed isn't a proper skill
Thats no fun.
Please leave wrpg discussion on Zig Forums instead of sending it to us, thanks.
Wasn't there some way to cheese easy defense levels in this game, something about using a shield perk and blocking arrows?
Could have sworn that if you used a shield and blocked arrows/magic your block and defense would increase like crazy, there was a perk where you took half/no damage while blocking
Anyone else train sneak by just sneak attacking Greybeards with a dagger to get easy levels or did they patch that shit?
>Skyrim recquires skill
I think we all need to mutually agree to strip back a few layers of irony at this point, because I genuinely can't tell who is or isn't pretending any more.
Don't forget that light armor had less perks and they were more useful than heavy armor perks
Also there's no good unique heavy armor sets, this game really favored light armor when it came to unique armor sets
Are you really this stupid or just pretending?
>Put on a set of dragonplate or dragonscale and getting mauled by a couple bears, optimally while casting restore spells, will max out the skills relatively quick.
If I have to do some dumb, grinding shit like that I will just use the console to level up in a small fraction of the time without missing any real gameplay.
>Skyrim recquires skill
it requires one to be knowledgeable of the game, it does take a certain "know how" if one is to survive the highest difficulty
>Thats no fun.
Standing in one spot casting the same spell over and over again to level alteration isn't fun either. Grinding sucks. Press button, number goes up isn't a game. Skipping that nonsense by using the console is practically the same thing.
>Not going to handed sword with heavy armor perk for zero weight heavy armor and being able to buff your AR as well.
Never gonna make it.
doesn't it make sense, though? the game has no dodge mechanic, so if you get into close range combat, you are going to get hit. If you are constantly in close range, you develop into a Tank. if you stay out of range, you will remain frail and delicate, as you would expect archers and mages to be. Especially given they only way to use ranged attacks effectively is to specialize in archery or magic.
actually... Archery is OP... it levels way too quickly, and building monster bows is piss easy. but the point still stands
>the game has no dodge mechanic, so if you get into close range combat, you are going to get hit.
The dodge mechanic is staying at the edge of the enemy's range, moving forward to hit them and then moving out of their range.
Will Elder Scrolls ever get actual combat mechanics instead of the Fallout melee system + bows and an equally barebones magic system?
They don't honestly think people still play Elder Scrolls for the story, do they?
I would also jump in oblivion to level acrobatics and did the same in Skyrim with alteration and conjuring, while running through town or out in the wild.
getting perks like Matching Set is an easy way to shoot your defense up
Magic based characters would just iron skin or whatever it was called and get a decent AR with robes on. If you leveled magic as a tank you’d have insane AR though, and absolutely silly levels with a shield.
You know the Fallout melee system was the Elder Scrolls melee system in the first place, right?
If they actually had a well put together story then yes they would but they pushed that out in favor of more flashy braindead combat and dumbed down quests
Bethesda have ran out of their halo effect at this point. Fallout 76 was heavily criticized for having outdated mechanics. Only Starfield will tell if Bethesda have learner from their mistakes
A good offence is the best defense anyway
Spending time playing Skyrim is waste.
I had more fun fighting enemies in Oblivion than I did in Skyrim. Having a dedicated spell button is something they really need to bring back
