What am I in for?

The absolute best sound design you've ever heard in a game, play with headphones
a generic survival crafting game with a really good horror atmosphere
This desu. I really really wanted to love it, and I did love the atmosphere, but the gameplay just couldn't hold my interest past the 2nd hideout.
Really good until you reach the third hideout, then it becomes a fucking chore.
>stalker
Are you retarded? What the fuck do these games have in common? Maybe darkwood is an fps? Or stalker having emphasis on melee weapons?
Creepy eastern european atmosphere, unexplainable events, horror of unpredictability, etc
The true ending is amazing, so many games have weak endings, but the ending to Darkwood made the entire journey worth it
A shite game that people only like because the HOLY BASED developer gave it away for free on torrents
An incredibly slow yet incredibly spooby game
Better horror game than what the West shat out since Alien Isolation.
A:I was awful
Also the devs are polish, so it's eastern
Regarding true ending : Was the Stranger just dreaming all along from the beginning?
Anything outside of Asia is considered western. Japan is literally the whole frame of reference for east and west in this medium.
Good for the first few hours, but breaks once get good equipment and level up a bit
No it was all real until he got the road, if you pay attention everyone in game told you the road never led home it always lead deeper into the forest. You're infected with the plague which is why you think it's the way home, forest is tricking you and forcing you to head that way despite everyone clearly saying it's not the way out.
I Believe it's after moving to the second area
i havent finished it so i cant tell, too spoopy for me
I honestly dont know, the game keeps it vague.
plus its been a while since I beat the game, I cant remember if there were any obvious implications.
It does have obvious implications, you were part of a research/military team from the swamp and you get attacked and chased away. Game has enough lore you can piece together what happened and what the forest is.
all slav games are stalker
So the White Light on the huge tree is trying to mislead the forest inhabitants? It want everyone to sleep so it can sap their dream?
>sap their dream
It doesn't care about dreams, it just eats those who starve.
I wonder if the "dream" is just a different reality that all the sleepers you see in the ending are also a part of. im pretty sure you see the doctor in the ending sleeping next to the being. so perhaps it wasnt really a dream, but real events taking place in a different dimension. but then again there are ALOT of sleepers in the ending, way more than are in the forest. not sure how to explain that.
this
top to down isnt horror
It's a giant being from space that landed in Poland and started creating a forest around it as it recreates objects but cant tell the difference been living objects and non living objects. It was quarantined by the military and researched on so it created a plague to defend itself. Anyone who becomes infected sees hallucinations and hears voices calling to them drawing them to the being. Once you get to it it puts you to sleep let's you dream a happy dream and slowly saps you as you sleep until you die and fertilise the tree.
Walking, inventory screens and survival/"horror" elements less sophisticated than Minecraft or Don't Starve.
It's all real until you get to the road, you and the doctor are both infected it's the reason you see your apartment and nice bowl of soup. You and the doctor both got to the road and both got trapped, hes most likely dreaming of his daughter he mentions in game which is why he refuses to wake up at the end since he finally found her.
all horror is inherently boring to be honest.
especially single player games.
>multiplayer "horror"
For what purpose
singleplayer games in general are boring. all horror is boring.
thats completely wrong.
horror is inherently the exact opposite of boring
>It's a giant being from space that landed
Wait what? Did I miss something from Journal notes?
>Once you get to it it puts you to sleep let's you dream a happy dream and slowly saps you as you sleep until you die and fertilise the tree.
What the likes of those chomping monsters and Banshee?
No, if it isn't like Fortnight it's slow and boring and there's no reason to play it.
one of the best horror games in a while
you must be boring person then
oh
