Ashes of Creation

Next big MMO to revive and innovate the genre or no?

looks like shit

>Sandbox
It'll be shit

Sometimes I wonder how shills feela when they force so many threads that people keeps shitting on.

no, it's always the same thing with MMOs. everytime a new mmo is being made that isn't a mobile game people get so hopeful that it'll be good and then the release is always a complete shit show or they add some cash grab shit a couple months in or the end game is fucking garbage and the game dies completely within half a year and its name is never uttered again

we just have to accept that a good mmo will never be made again, wow and ffxiv are the peak of the genre unfortunately

>cosmetic cash shop
No. I can accept b2p with a sub, but cash shops are where I draw the line.

Crowfall is going into beta finally next week some time. Devs say they're finally going to do a pass on abilities and balance because the creative director says it's pretty bland compared to what he envisioned.
I for one am looking forward to stomping noobs soon.

Didn't the lead dev who's bankrolling the thing make all his money through MLM (i.e. pyramid scheme)?
It's one of those 'too good to be true' games by the way they're promoting it.

I’ve lost all hope. Good mmo doesn’t exists and it’s because of the people that play them for raids and pvp. ffxiv got close but did the horrible mistakes of making raids and token grinds. Every fucking time with theses games

>giant otter mounts
Okay you have my attention.

reddit-tier response

Amen. The people who defend that cosmetic isn’t really part of the game doesn’t understand the RP part of an RPG. Breaks the immersions and you have to see dumb teens and weeb adults buying an arsenal of clothing/mounts for bragging rights. Ew.

Game will be good if they can implement their vision well, but I don't think that will

How many more threads are you going to be a bitchnigga in tonight?

Due to how their current PK system works, no. They quite basically copy pasted FO76's bounty system. This will greatly hurt any sense of community and even roleplaying by forcefully controlling player made content.

post gameplay

WoW got me when I saw Kodos. How dare we want to play an RPG with RP elements? Get back to your calculator, user.

How many times have we gone through this Zig Forums?
MMOs are fucking dead

This game's UI team is carrying mad load but everything else sucks.

someone i know already has a lifetime sub ahahahahahahaha

On paper it's solid but they have a lot of ground to cover and so much room to fuck it all up.

Blizzard popularized it and destroyed it. But would like to see just one great one before I die. Must be some trust fund kid out there that has a vision

Fuck off shill
no one is paying $80 for a dead on arrival game

I am personally excited for it, I've bought the snail mount.

only kickstarter MMO that actually has a chance to be finished, alpha starts next month

If you can already buy in-game items it’s already dead.

If it ever comes out and delivers even half of what it promises It will at least breathe some fresh air into the MMORPG genre. When it will come out however is anyone's guess, probably 2-3 years from now. Pointless to get exited about it now.

Personally, I love the idea of PvP MMO's. I don't love WoW.

I love Ultima Online.
I love EVE Online.

I thought a lot of the other ones were very okay at best.
I get the hesitance, totally. I don't know if this one will succeed but at the very least they know what they want to do, and that vision seems pretty solid.

That being said, Yep, purchasing cosmetics now is risky as fuck, and to be perfectly honest I don't even really think I'm purchasing a cosmetic. I am just donating to the cause. I really feel like MMO's are so fucked right now that we need to support the people that actually have a clue and stop subbing to ones that are inherently fucking awful.

If $200 pays some dudes wage to make some new extra models for the game to make it that bit better then so be it. I could actually care less about the cosmetic. It's just really an unfortunate situation the genre is in.

>ugly brown shit
>MMO

How is this different than any other soulless mmorpg? That genre is where companies go to die

Is it a subscription fee or a one-time buy

This and /thread

How you look means a lot in MMOs and when you put in a cash shop you kill your games immersion instantly.

Ideally it gets the same thing going for it that EVE has (at least I'm hoping) where guilds form, become heroes guilds or tyrant guilds and we have this cool server narrative like -

"Remember when the Children of the Cob were controlling Princess Lakes and then The Miners of Cum came through and killed them all and stole all their shit and now they hate them"

I've noticed more and more threads for this game, is it releasing soon?
