I play Ridley

I never cared because I've never beat a single Metroid game. The design was kind of cool though so I'm like, "Alright, sure."

Maybe his Up B shouldn't be fucking garbage.
Maybe they should have actually given him a proper down B.
A character doesn't have to be good they just need to have actual options and ability to be played.
I play K Rool, and while I think I Rool is massively underrated, he is still fun to play because his kit functions well.
Ridley basically has no special attacks because, save for neutral they're all fucking trash.

Last night me and two friends played nothing but 3-way Ridley dittos on Hyrule Temple and it was fun as fuck.

He's just needs minor tweaks. I don't know why they don't want to fix him.

He's my main. I play him in local tourneys. No one expects to see a Ridley in tourneys. He's good if you know what you're doing (i dont).

Most fan requested characters are either shit or play like shit.

don't get me wrong, I love playing as the crackhead lizard dragon (green with red wings like Phase 2 Dracula, baby) but he needs some tweaks to his kit so he's more bearable, especially online with the lag.

Don't forget he is not even a heavy weight, so he suffers all the negativity of heavies without any of the upsides

smash is the most popular fighting game but it doesn't have story. so unless you play smash all the time then it's more about the prestige of your character being in smash and their franchise becoming more popular.

Shit, bro. Don't hate on the man just because you can't use him. All his specials are useful in the situations they are designed for. Ridley is a punish character first and foremost. A real thinking-man's fighter. Up-B is a fantastic approach-stuffer and aggression mixup with its huge hitbox and great priority. Side-B is a fantastic whiff-punisher, and instantly cucks players that like to shield excessively. Additionally, it puts them in an edgeguard scenario, which is where Ridley truly shines. Down-B is great in extremely situational circumstances. Serving as a low-percentage option to punish special fall and shield breaks where charged smashes won't kill. Honestly kind of ass since they nerfed his down-throw confirm. So, yeah. 2/3. You're fucking trash, mate.

Ridley's the most fun I ever had with the game. He's the only thing that keeps me coming back every now and then.

Side B is broken, my dude. Kills at like 90 anywhere on the stage. Compare this to Incineroar's great Side B that requires good timing and may kill at 70 only on the sides of the stage.

Ridley is a fantastic pubstomper character. He is just perfectly designed for filtering shitters. All the autists in this thread are complaining about high-level tournament viability, which, honestly doesn't even matter, because no one in this thread is good enough at the game to compete with top-players in the first place.

I said he was better as a boss, and retarded roster fags told me he would be fun as a character. Don't know WHY they thought that, it obviously wasn't true.
