yhorm was supposed to be the tutorial boss
But what about all the tree shit?
Actually about Dark Lords instead of Lords of Cinder.
Looking at this map, Irithyll/Anor Londo was a late addition. And I'm still wondering what the unused city was that you can see in the distance from Vordt's bonfire.
Tons of stuff in the vistas make no sense.
The giant archer tower keeps changing from broken to intact, the dragon is missing from the bridge, in Archdragon Peak there's only the High Wall but not Drangleic Castle itself and Anor Londo is much higher in comparison to everywhere else, the way down to Irithyll Dungeon can be seen from Smouldering Lake but when you're there there is no hole to look through, etc.
It's the abyss
There's a cut area themed around it covered in roots and shit
Does the player even visit Archdragon Peak for real, or is it just a dream he has?
Since when was the abyss trees?
Since now apparently
Also don't think about archdragon peak, it was supposed to be actually part of the map but everything got shifted so they had no idea how to get you there
DaSIII is just a bad BB mod.
This is why I'm not going to bitch about Elden Ring taking forever
I want to see if From can actually manage to make a game that isn't stapled together from the remains of a significantly better concept they weren't able to complete. If it takes them another 5 years sure, I'll wait, they've earned the chance to try, because even despite all the cut content and sloppy patchwork the games are still some of the only modern ones worth playing.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and a shot at no deadlines and see if they can actually back their ideas up without falling into development hell.
I would like a Sekiro DLC or something in the meantime at least though
Same, Sekiro feels like the first game where they didin't go "shit we're out of money and time, scrap everything" they can take their time with Elden Ring
Still, a sign of life would be appreciated
The danger of taking forever is that they will have to scrap everything every time a new console generation comes out while they're still in the middle of development.
Maybe they don't like people finding out that all their games are an unfinished mess so they decided to not share any gameplay or screenshots before development is complete.
They should stop leaving clearly undeveloped sections and ideas laying around everywhere then
It'll all get datamined less than a month in anyway. As long as the game feels complete and satisfying then people won't care.
>Leaked dark souls 3 screenshots
It hurts
Speaking of unused content, what was Dark Souls 2 going to be about and would it have been better than the game we got?
The worst part is that the animations for the blood ritual and bonfire making are still in the game and that the old version of DaSIII made a lot more sense. For some retarded reason they decided to shuffle the bosses around so they don't fit the places where you fight them anymore.
>DS3
It's References: The Game
It was about time travel for some reason
The idea for the tutorial was pretty interesting, you start in the dark chasms without any equipment surrounded by overpowered enemies in the dark and have to find your way around them, there was even a dragon in the caves, the whole game was also meant to be more open like dark souls 1
It was just some time travel thing and more of the game revolved around Drangleic Castle's immediate vicinity.
>cut content

2 had similar problems. You were supposed to start off in the crypt and the rotten was an early boss fight.
>we will never get ceremonies

it's nature, man
it's eternal life that works
>Be codemonkey at Fromsoftware
>Work on Dark Souls 3
>First thing Myiazaki has you make is a dragon squashing a baby while it screams
>Tons of arguing over why it's even in the game and how it's too extreme for audiences
>After a while Myiazaki finally accepts to change it
>Just makes the baby invisible
I'm glad the Souls games are done if this is the treatment they're going to get
But I'm always going to be mad we never got to fuck up the serpents
bright souls
>522859548
cut stuff in those bullshots looks like bloodbourne content
>Kaathe was supposed to have wings and crash through the twin prince boss fight, which explains the hole
Fucking alpha Dark Souls 3 man
Archtrees and Everlasting Dragons were the original state of the world, neither alive because life hadn't begun yet, just a kind of immortal mineral that the world was made out of before the Fire. DS3 is about the Fire finally actually ending, so the world is full of things returning to their original state. That's why everything is becoming either a tree or a Dragon.
>"Hey, Nakadashi-san"
>"Yes, Miyazaki-san?"
>"Remember when I told you about implementing a baby that gets squished during one of the boss fights?"
>"Eh, I rather not be reminded of th.."
>"GREAT, because I want you to add about half a dozen burnt ones to another boss!"
It was way superior, you didin't have carbon copies of the 4 lords and the story wasn't laughable with Nashandra as the Disney villain and Vendrick's entire character being "nooo Shandra please come back I miss you i fucked up I love you you literal fragment of Satan"
The story was basically about Vendrick's obsession with some time travel Mcguffin that could prevent the destruction of Drangleic by the giants and how it shaped his entire kingdom, the gyrms (Gavlaan) were in the gutter and were a slave race forced by Vendrick to dig underground for a piece of the Mcguffin, the reason the gutter is so shitty is because originally it was literally the sewers of Drangleic castle, Gavlaan also was a bartender or similar which is why he has a mug out of nowhere
>which explains the hole
What fucking hole.
I keep hearing about some hole in the boss room but I can't remember ever seeing one.
I really want to like DS3 but it's too gray and ugly.
>nakadashi-san
Bloodborne you say?
>Hollows turning into trees was supposed to go hand in hand with the flying dragons in the skyboxes
>Remove the dragons and swap them with those shitty pilgrim butterflies that make no sense
>But still keep the tree hollows
Man, that would've been kino as fuck. What about the stuff with Dragons?
It sure is artistic in how it ties to the decay of the world but it's also fucking BORING to look at. Who says the end of the world cannot be colorful?
this, ds3's engine felt like it was much more suited for bb's urban environment. I fucking adore the look of bb, but ds3 looks plain grimdark whereas ds1 looks more dreary and sad, and I much prefer the latter when when it comes to dark souls.
Fucking pissed that we never got an Abyss focused souls game. A game actually going into detail about what the Age of Dark would entail.
Again, originally the game was supposed to have much colder colours, instead of the Berserk reference appearing in the sky the entire world went dark as the flame dies which added a lot to the atmosphere, sure would beat the entire game being yellow, orange and sometimes grey when indoors
youtube.com
No fire = no colors, that's just how it is
It doesn't matter. People will see unfinished/salvaged game. They won't have proofs but still
