GBF is more comparable to a MMO in a lot of ways. The gacha element is how you acquire characters, but the grind and weapon grid and raid systems are all very much MMO styled

Yeah I still rather dislike MMOs to begin with so that isn't really something I care about.
I'm mostly bitter about GFL because you'd have the perfect bedrock for something like an FPS or RTS or something but then it's just a stat roll game with grinding for resources and energy meters, I fucking hate it.
Gacha games to me feel like incomplete games where they just have proper character design and everything else is just stopgap.

It's actually just a single character in the game. All the other male draphs are male. Unlike the West, that character is presented in a humorous tone too and follows the okama (dragqueen basically) archetype, which Japan has used for comedic purposes for decades. They even run a bar just as the cliche always seems to go.

Covid denied that game a life. To be fair, its partly the Jap devs fault for not having better online netcode but Ive been in corporate enough to know the amount of legal bullshit you have to jump through to implement even a """""free"""""" feature like GGPO, and retrofitting a netcode to an already made game. The amount of hype GBVS had in the Asian market is huge, the west just thinks its a nothingburger and Im increasingly upset by it.
