Well, Zig Forums ?
This game revived the dead 2D platforming genre, will you give it the praise it deserves?
I can’t beloeve the revived it only to kill it again
? how did they kill it?
>Those methods of getting to worlds 4 and 7
That was shrewd at the time
I hate when they make you do obscure bs to get to get 100% completion. Like, I get it, they want to reward players from experimenting with the mechanics, but ...
And there was no way to know that the secret exit was in the final castle ...
No because Zig Forums likes to mostly just point out bad things
I'm glad the "New" series is dead. Art style is boring and barely any good musics.
Why does Zig Forums fellate games like Deus Ex and DMC, then?
>I'm glad the "New" series is dead
It isn't.
I didn't even think about how to get to them at the time, I just had a kid at my school who said that she knew how to unlock them and so I gave her my copy of the game and she gave it back the next day with the worlds unlocked.
Gave up and just made a half assed level maker campaign instead of a full game. They obviously have no intention of continuing the series (I assume because it goes against Miyamoto's mantra of innovation)
Bah Bah
>Miyamoto
>ever being consistent
He says a lot of things, if you look at shit like Origami King it's pretty clear he's not particularly concerned with innovation.
Blue shell is hands down the most fun power-up in the franchise and the fact that it hasn't returned is a fucking crime.
Why do people give Arthur Morgan shit for taking 2 seconds to start running full speed, when Mario does the exact same thing in this game?
So this is the responsive, video-gamey style of gameplay that nintendo is famous for?
>a half assed level maker campaign instead of a full game
It was not bad imo. They just haven't had time to make a proper nsmb game, between Mario Maker 1 and 2.
>Why do people give Arthur Morgan shit for taking 2 seconds to start running full speed
Nigga he takes 2 seconds to start fucking MOVING after the analog stick is pushed.
>taking 2 seconds to start running full speed
It doesn't mean it's unresponsive, it just means you're bad at the game. git gud.
>is responsible for the Mario Mandate
Nah nigga, fuck off with that crap. To me 2D Mario ended at Super Mario Land 2 and Super Mario World.
Donkey Kong '94 is the best Mario game.
That was only when NSMBWii happened. None of Mario games were modelled off the original DS game
>Super Mario Land 2
Inferior to all NSMB games.
I recently booted this game up again after not playing it in probably a decade. I finished collecting 3 coins in every level and had a blast with it, even if I had to look up videos for the coins online. This game is better than Odyssey.
I bought it cheap and went through the game 100% in a week, playing it every day. It's not as good as NSMBU+NSLU, but it definitely laid a fantastic groundwork.
I never played beyond this game in the New series, but I'll get around to those eventually on emulator. Looking forward to them now.
Story Mode in Mario Maker 2 was basically a full game just without a world map
Yeah, NSMB DS is pretty good
But my favourite NSMB game is the one without Mario and the one Nintendo did not even make themselves
If you had to look up videos to find the secrets in a Mario game, then clearly Odyssey is not the right game for you anyway.
There is no such game.
i played this with my bros after my surgery. good(ish) times.
um, no? gba had tons of 2d platformers, the genre never died
2D platforming was killed by indie games.
>gba had tons of 2d platformers
Name 2.
>I didn't even think about how to get to them at the time, I just had a kid at my school who said that she
Stopped reading there
sonic advance
sonic advance 2
sonic advance 3
that was ez
Wario Land 4 and Metroid Fusion, both launchtitles
was this the only platform in the NDS?
it had a better mario 2d game than nsmb
no, the ds was plauged by 2d platformers, even though I bought the shit to play 3d ones
