I hated Ace Combat 7. The music is the best in the series but the story is a poorly cobbled-together mess and too many of the missions are "hit an arbitrary score limit in the time limit" and far too few of them have actual checkpoints.

Even the Arkbird fight, which is a fantastic moment, is undermined by it being the third time you fight the exact same thing.

Do people really have trouble following the story?

The repeated Arkbird segments make perfect sense if you're not a moron. The first interaction sets up how overwhelmingly powerful it is, the second shows that it does have a weakness and can be killed (also just some old fashioned Stonehenge dickwaving), and the third is you stripping it apart and executing it practically on your own.

Alicorn was a better final boss and it's supposed to be right in the middle of the story. Damn that hellish development...

it's not that people have trouble following the story, it's that the story is a bit of a mess

The pre release trailers really seemed like there would be a branching story. I was pretty disappointed there wasn't.

I wasn't all that hot over AC7, the soundtrack was ehh, the gameplay was okay but almost all of the missions were annoying in oneway or another. THe plane "tuning" was alsokinda shit, especially when coming from ACI and why the fuck half of the parts are MP only

hated how spare squadron was just dropped

after several missions it finally turns into a proper squadron with Trigger as the clear leader and then next mission you permanently leave them behind

and when you meet back up with them they no longer have planes to fly with

I just want a cracked DLC already

blended/flying wings are sexy as fuck.
far more efficient than a tube with wings but no current airport could handle them
