Last Thread: Hi again Anons! For those who didn't see nor know, I was the organizer for Super Mario Zig Forumsorld, a Super Mario World Collaboration hack with levels by your fellow Anons. We are now starting production on the on the sequel, Super Mario Zig Forumsorld 2! Like last time, you will have 31 threads to create and produce your content for the collab, and another month after for testing. Like last hack, this is a SA-1 powered SMW Hack (you can play on real hardware) that contains a baserom of a lot of custom assets to play around with incase you are not good at working with custom resources. Unlike last time however, we are not using the Sprites on Platform Patch.
New to this hack is an organied claim sheet. While it will be set to view only, please use the sheet to claim your resources, and comment in the threads with what you want and I will mark it down. As for submiting levels, you can either submit here in the daily threads or email me your levels at [email protected]. That is not the only thing new however, but I will discuss that in the post below. I can't wait to do this again, let's make something great!
IRC - webchat.freenode.net/ (type #vhack for the channel, YES YOU NEED TO TYPE THE #)
While the Final Boss is now around 1/3 of the way done (you can check progress in the video attached), the port for the track isn't. The plan is to use the final boss track from Romancing Saga Minstrel Song, which has not been ported yet (aside from an old Japanese port from over a decade ago). Currently, we have a midi and baseline transcription of that midi, which does not sound great. This is one of the last major things to get done with for the boss. Thanks a bunch Anons!
This is for continued discussion on the Multiperson levels. As a note, I have opened up TEMP ROOMS for both levels, and made Room 3 available again, as that user has not reached out to me in over a week. These 5 rooms need to get done. While previously I did not allow it, if you made a room or a hub previously, you are also allowed to make another rooms.
I want to note that Bowser's Castle works a bit differently, as you could see from this image. Each "Hub" should be 02 screens long and end with a single door. That door (in the final castle) will randomly send the player to one of three potential rooms (as shown in the image). The actual "rooms" can be as long as you'd like. In order to get to the boss, you need to clear four of the rooms, and a death will send you back to Hub 1.
After you finish the castle, all rooms will be unlockable to play in any order.
5-FINAL is more traditional, it is just a straight shot of four rooms before the boss. The 5-FINAL Boss is still unclaimed, and if anyone wants to attempt it, feel free. I can't wait to see what you all make Anons!
number block level is done. i call it Lethal Locksmithing and it comes with a boss. i'd like retry on every sublevel and multi midway settings set to $03 on all sublevels as well.
patch is included if you want to play through it before inserting everything because holy BALLS there is a lot to insert. don't mind the unused tiles in the ExGFX, there were a lot of scrapped things for the boss
also the rain.cfg i uploaded should overwrite the rain file that's already in the baserom. it fixes pretty much all the issues it originally had and actually works on hardware ($7F addresses changed to $40 addresses). snes9x is weird with sa-1 so i didn't notice any problems until i used bsnes
Landon Johnson
Good luck everyone. Hopefully the bowser & 5-final screens get finished before the end of the month.
Jason Gomez
Thank you user!
Alright, inserted everything
Jaxson Morales
thanks dude. i'll definitely try to get my rooms done
awesome
Joshua Gonzalez
Just beat it, the boss's peck attack is hard to dodge but goddamn is that fun. Great work.
Nicholas Brown
Considering the difficulty of this I'll probably have this as one of the special world levels honestly
Jaxson Jenkins
Decided to add some more GFX so it'll take a bit longer to get to the level out than I anticipated
James Adams
Sure thing user, which level is yours? Also let me know if you need more ExGFX
Liam Torres
Currently working on the boss, plan is to maybe finish as much as possible today
Robert Barnes
>28/31 man I hope everyone who's still WIP can get their stuff done in time

There's only 6 main levels left, although 2-2 still needs to be claimed and made. I'll probably finish 5-0 myself as I have a clever idea now. That leaves 4 levels left, and I've heard from 3 of the 4 people behind those levels. Question still is what will happen with 2-2 though...
Dominic Wright
You probably should've put it in one of the first posts that 2-2 was reopened.
On a tangentially related note, I'm submitting a tiny update for Lockjaw that changes one of the pipes due to a tiny scrolling related bug it could cause.
I also swore I put it in the Multiperson post, but oh well. Tomorrow then, I guess

claiming bowser room 3

Added
Daniel Collins
No problem, just making use of all the slots I claimed
Adrian Robinson
I've noticed that the green switch palace has been marked as complete for a while now, but it's not in the baserom
Benjamin Lopez
That is correct, Green Switch is "done" (as in, I have a rom with a completed version of it), but the author requested to not put it in yet, as he still sees it as incomplete/work in progress.

im spent too much time playing around with ExGFX and music with nothing to show. ill give a status since i havent posted in awhile. flight school was pretty much done, ill need help to put in the teleporters. ill post it later tonight. we get signal has concepts done, i still need to put the segments together. ill try to get a draft in the next 2 days. sadly, it still suffers the flaws of the older version: its confusing and requires tricks people might not know about.
Eli Morris
Have those two new Sonic 3 remixes been used anywhere in the hack?
Jace Diaz
Which?
Sounds good
Gavin Evans
how do i play this
Jayden Thomas
I remember one of them was Lava Reef Zone. The person who posted the DL link said he found them a while ago and that they're not on SMWC.
Easton Roberts
I don't remember that, but no one has used it yet.
It's not done, but you can play the in-dev version in the newest baserom.
Easton Bennett
do I need a hacked switch to play? what do I do with it
James Perez
Run the .smc file in a SNES emulator, preferably Snes 9x.
John Sullivan
I uploaded them, I can give link in a bit since I’m not on my PC unless somebody digs them up using the Zig Forums archive. Should be a Mega link
Matthew Hernandez
thanks buddy. I'll download the first game and try that while I wait for this to be finished.
