well it does seem to help but still 24/26 fps unless I look down. Kinda playable I guess.

I beat Yakuza 4 for the first time just a couple of days ago. I really liked it! The story at the end was all over the place tho, and the last boss fight was anti-climactic to say the least.
But the side missions are great!

What*s your CPU? I'm using a R5 3600 and the frame rate is pretty much always 30fps. It only tanks on the streets with gazillion pedestrians on screen.

Yeah, the PS3 entries have really bad main stories.
5 as least rises to a "half-decent anime" level.
I think a major creative/writing lead left after Yakuza 2.

2600. The game runs fine indoors, constant 30fps but on the streets it drops down to 24/26 fps unless I look down.

Swap 2 and 1 if we're talking the Kiwami versions. Kiwami 1 did more good then harm but Kiwami 2 did more harm then good imo.

if it makes you feel any better Tanimura doesn't come back for Yakuza 5. The actor who played him got into some drug allegations behind the scenes but got cleared of them and decided to jack in acting altogether because he felt betrayed by everyone he'd ever met in the business.

Which sort of fucked up the whole four cardinal beasts thing they had going on with him representing Genbu with the other three as Seiryu, Suzaku and Byakko.

4 is my favorite in the series
I like all the protags, especially Tanimura, and I liked how they finally getthe cops involved in the story

Havent played 6 yet btw because I only recently beat 5 and would get burned out if Ijust jumped into it.

I enjoyed it. I played Yakuza 4 right after 3 and it was a massive improvement so maybe there's an expectation thing.

Kiwami 2 removed an entire area
Kiwami 2 uses the dragon engine so the combat is worse
Kiwami 2 actually makes a lot of the areas look more lifeless and too different from the original

Kiwami 1 improves upon everything on the original and is done very well. Uses 0's engine, has 4 combat styles and Majima everywhere. It's a well done remake.

I really think that Yakuza 3 is better. 4's entire pacing felt rushed so it is literally the opposite of the game before it and has the dumbest final boss battle like I said before.
