Thoughts on Nvidias 3000 series?

Attached: msi-rtx-3000-cards-800x400.jpg (800x400, 38.72K)

I still don't know if I should just stay up all night or try to wake up at the asscrack of dawn on the 17th to buy one.

Pricing seems to be fair vs 2000 series.

only that alternate EVGA one looks good besides the founder edition which looks the best to me

>msi goes rgb
next

I doubt they'll release it at 6am est

fair price vs performance ratio if Nvidia's tests are accurate. still waiting for third party benchmarks on both performance and thermals.

while I doubt it's going to actually do anything vs the 3000 series, going to wait for AMD's big navi reveal to see what they have in store

why can't some arab prince break the street date so we can get some benchmarks?

I have to wait for AIB benchmarks before I buy my 3090 so it will be a while for me. Although I may just take the plunge and buy a strix.

Gonna get pic related, hopefully I can get one early but If not I'm okay with sitting on my 1080Ti a little longer.

When do AIBs come out anyway?

2080ti owners got fucked hard

2 years of unrivaled performance is fine for someone willing to drop that kind of money because they inevitably will buy the next one

you assume that most bought at launch, some poor sods bought into the 2080ti meme a month ago.

I think everything except the 3090 will get invalidated by RDNA2
I think only the founders edition and strix look great for the 30 series, it's pretty sad.
Getting a 3090 day 1 by the way.

will the 3080 get a Ti version?
anybody knows anything?

I'm considering taking the plunge and going the 3090 so I can go 4k 120hz but my eternal cheapskate mentality is preventing me from doing it even though I can afford it.

Do you work only to be able to eat or to afford things you want?

People that dumb are always going to get fucked over in life

Thats because they are stupid. You never buy a gfx card from seversl years ago on the dawn of the next console generation. Thats like the number one rule.

I hope this taught you faggots a lesson.
I remember someone making fun of me days before the Ampere announcement with the "just wait" meme when i told them not to get a 2070S.
Yes, sometimes you should just wait.

In 2 years people will meme about 30XX as well.

My irl friends mocked me for sitting on my 1080 when they all got 2xxx cards. Guess who's laughing now?

I'm buying a 3080 to play Factorio.

Attached: apu.jpg (238x192, 14.09K)

I’ll continue to just wait for the 5000 cards

I unironically work because I enjoy what I do.

Gonna be buying a Kingpin 3090 when Trump wins in November and i get my online bet winnings.
You should do it too user, it's free money.

No one knows. I'm hoping we get a 20GB version, but it could be months or even a year down the line.
My main concern is that because these GPUs are actually reasonably priced, they'll sell out and we'll deal with scalpers again.
I'm trying to decide whether to get an EVGA 3080 when they release, or waiting to see if they announce a 20GB version

Can I do it as an europoor? I bet they're gonna come up with a way to out him by cheating anyway.

2080S owner here, quite happy with it since I still game on 1080p, in two years or three I will upgrade.
I do agree tho, 2080ti owners must be feeling pretty but blasted right now.

Yes there's european betting sites too, it's legal in most EU states.

What are some reputable places to bet on the election? Also what's the split, is it 1:1?

Just buy it so you can shitpost here about how you can play "insert game that doesn't need a powerful videocard" at 4K 1000fps

At this point, what reason exists to buy non-founders edition? The cards look infinitely better, they seem to have actually gotten a really fucking good cooling solution, what do AIBs have that nvidia doesn't? RGB?

very nice

Is 4k really necessary when you can gane at 2k? At some point you get dimnishing returns

I hope aftermarket cards release close to the same time as founders because I was planning to get a 3070 and it lined up perfectly with when I'd get free time/uni break (mid-late October) so I'd finally be able to build my first PC and enjoy some gaming in my break but Nvidia just announced that founders edition cards won't be sold in Australia so now my plans are fucked, probably won't get to enjoy vidya until Christmas break or even later maybe. That's assuming the aftermarket cards don't skyrocket in price in Australia due to founders not being available to provide competition/a reference point for MSRP. So not only will I have to wait longer but I'll be paying way more too.

Feels fucking bad bros. Might just have to get a 2070 Super instead...

It depends of screen size and distance from the monitor.

Tempted to rush for a 3080 at release since supply will be a shit show for awhile I'm sure. Have a 1080 ti and just want a card that actually fucking pushes 144hz/1440p.

Realistically speaking 20XX (with 8GB+) could handle this entire generation at 1080p 60 fps on high/ultra

Same boat bros... Really hope I don't need to wait past october to buy the new 3000 series
reeeeeeeeeee

RTX 3080 is $1200 AUD and third party cards will be available on the 17th

The FE cards will blow warm air towards your CPU, so if you use an aircooler it might worsen your cooling performance a little.

That's the price listed by Nvidia for the founders cards which aren't getting sold. So aftermarket manufacturers can price them as high as they want here since there's no competition. Probably gonna be like $300 extra.

Seem like solid cards, but just too power hungry for me. Considering I'm a Turing-tard I'm going to wait for the 4000 series.

>third party cards will be available on the 17th
source?

I heard at most it would raise your cpu temp by 1-2 degrees

I guess that could be an issue, especially considering how these cards are 300+ watts, but it seems like nvidia's really mitigated it by having half the heat pushed out the back. We'll see when reviews pop up.

I'm still buying PS5.

We don't have any real tests on that yet so it's hard to say.
It'll also vary depending on your airföow.

Dude, trust me.

I see what you mean, but from what I've seen 4K does have a much better clarity than 1080p, plus not just gaming but streaming movies as well.
I will get a 4K monitor eventually and game at whatever resolution I can, so for older games def at 4K while modern games maybe at 1440p at most.
Yeah so far I've had no issues gaming at 1080p with high to max (mostly) settings, and get over 100fps on modern games, except for RDR2 which is understandable.
Unless I see a 3080 going for super cheap then I'll wait it out.

HELP BROS

I LITERALLY cannot decide to go Air or water on my next build, i've dont water for my last like 3 machines and i'm over aio water cooling so much and want this bad thuge boi(pic related)

BUT water cooling looks nice AND it gives me the ability to verticalling mount the 3080 Ima get

What do bros..

Attached: Noctua-NH-D15-SE-AM4-CPU-Cooler-2.jpg (1204x677, 186.22K)

It's simple, water cooling is a meme. Buy a good case with mesh front and go for air

wait for benchmarks

if it's not a huge gap, get a used 2080/2070 for cheap. if ebay prices are high, fuck it and get a 3000 series.

I'm very biased towards fat Noctua air coolers, it's nice how quiet they are and i enjoy the peace of mind i get from know they have less possible failure points than AIOs or custom loops.

Digital Foundry already did a 3080 vs 2080 benchmark.

I have a big concern that Nvidia found out what AMD was doing for performance and price and they are making a quick dash for cash.
I refuse to believe Nvidia intended their new cards to use 8/10gb of vram, in this era of pushing for 2160p. I already max out my 2080ti vram on several games.

I really hope they just did a retard and didn't lower the ram to lower the price because AMD has some good cards coming soon with 8-12gb vram. I also hope they didn't cherry pick too hard about the games previewers were allowed to show to make their cards look better.

Still in for a 3090 for my own pc and my fiancee gets my 2080ti until AMD releases their stuff. Then I can just sell the 2080ti/3090 if needed if AMD does something crazy.

I have one of those, it's a beast and liquid cooling really is a meme.

Attached: NHD15.jpg (2560x1440, 920.9K)

I wanna see more benchmarks, because they got first dibs to make the cards look good.

They should be good, I just want more data/fps numbers.

I'll be putting together a build including a 3080 later this year.
Not sure which processor to get just yet, though so if anyone has any recommendations on something that's likely to get a decent sale in November let me know.

Yeah but for some reason they didn't show the frames, seemed a little fishy..

water cooling is for aesthetics only. The difference in temps is essentially meaningless.

Skip the Noctua overpriced shit brown and get a Dark Rock Pro 4.
If you are not doing full custom loop then don't do water, simple.

They weren't allowed to under NDA.

Either get noctuas or AIO Cooling.

They sneakily tell you the 2080's fps at some point and then the % that the 3080 is better, so you could do the math yourself.
