If you like foraging and crafting then sure, give Atelier a shot. Arland trilogy's a good place to start if time limits don't scare you so Rorona, then Totori, then Meruru.

Pretty good art and actually gets translated. That's a huge rarity. And even if they're cookie cutter they're still not bad for what they are.

Because they get translated. You have to remember that EOPs are literal shit eaters, anything that gets translated is like manna from heaven for them.

It's the same reason why trash like THP is considered a "good" NTR game when it's horribly formulaic garbage. EOPs have no real frame of reference, because they've barely played anything.

This is my first Acerola game. The RPG Maker jank is a little off-putting at first, but it gets to be charming. For RPG Maker, it's still relatively impressive. Original monster art instead of stock, original menus. One thing that bothers me is how obvious it is that different artists handled different aspects. Like, it's obvious that a different illustrator, with a totally different process and style, did the Alchemy images, vs. the Character Portaits, and the H images are different too. Kinda jarring.
The translation is good. I've played too many machine-translated games, with "popopopo" sort of onomatopeia and such. I'd play another Acerola after this, though. It's pretty decent.

I started playing Dead or School thinking it was just a Highschool of the Dead level of shitty ecchi game, but it turned out to be a super charming and enjoyable game.

I remember seeing that on Steam, and I couldn't figure out whether is was porn or not. Like, there was no rating or content warning, but sometimes they didn't mark them clearly. And it just really gave a fetishy vibe.

It's a budget platformer action type of game with weapon drops and upgrading, but the heroine is 100% super cool and charming.

Kamidori Alchemy Meister is a classic. Being an SRPG, its gameplay is similar to Fire Emblem or Disgaea all the while you're managing a shop while synthetizing stock or equipment. Its worth mentioning that Kamidori no Rhapsody was also translated some time last year, pretty good but requires some extra patience here and there. Just a straight up SRPG similar to Disgaea.
