It's probably because I don't have the same patience anymore, but I'm taking a break after 40 hours. I'm currently in chapter 2, I know these games are slow, but God, nothing happened so far. The pacing is killing me. Other annoyances are the Tehehes, the Hehehes and the Bwahahas, the camera shots at silent characters thinking "I know shit but I'm not telling youuu, because fuck you", the villains that talk for 30 minutes and then flee because people weaker than Piccolo came to fight, etc.
Will certainly finish it but right now I'm more annoyed than anything. Boss fights are cool though because some require a certain strategy.

It's not you, Trails of Cold Steel 3 is a slog from start to finish. They introduce generic new students that you are somehow supposed to care about, when it's obvious that they won't even matter in the new game.
new class 7 is way more interesting than old class 7, which probably isn't saying much now that i think about it but hey.

Dropped the game a while ago and trying to work up the will to carry on. Too many characters that you have no reason to care about, too big of a world that turns everything into build up with no payoff since it has to go through each character and each area slowly, just so the game can explain what they are to anyone who picked this up and knows nothing about Trails. And the new commands system besides not being any fun to use is also makes the game a joke since some are too strong. If I have to see another character who is introduced by them having a secret conversation about a secret motive that isn't going to be explained for another 60 hours I'll blow my brains out.

It still angers me that Crossbell games went for the harem elements instead of either sticking with pure vanilla love story with Elie or reverse Estelle/Joshua with Rixia and now we're forever in vacuum as far as Lloyd's relationships go
