What was THE greatest video game of the early 2000's?
half life 2
The early 2000s had a lot of good stuff
World of Warcraft, Battlefield 1942, Resident Evil 4, and Melee come to mind
Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness
Deus Ex
Nox
Halo
For me? Final Fantasy X.
every single reply so far has been shit
for me it was one of the ratchet and clank games, probably 2 or 3.
half-life 2 and resident evil 4
not only good games, but genre-defining aswell, those 2 games alone shifted the game industry into new directions.
Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix or Kingdom Hearts I
Code Veronica and REmake are miles better than RE4.
Silent Hills 2 and 3 are better than RE4, as well.
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
Halo.
League of Legends
Minecraft
>Code Veronica

In my opinion? Deus Ex. In terms of what had the greatest impact on gaming? Probably
GTA3
Shin Megami Tensei 3
It is not even necessarily a matter of genre disparity. They are just better games. Period.
Though it should be noted that survival horror in general is a high tier genre (top 3) and survival horrors are, on average, better than most other games, yes.
This
Unreal Tournament 2004
Game is dead nowadays :(
>Code Veronica
>peak survival horror
It's the worst fixed camera RE game bar maybe 0, but I haven't played that one.
AC:ZERO
Age of Mythology for me, although I would accept C&C Generals as a worth substitute. Surprised no one has said Civ 3 yet but then again it was surpassed by 4 in every way.
I like HL2, but the gunplay is atrocious.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, hands down.
Metal Slug 3 or Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner
