Maybe in a couple of years, when the 3050 will be $150

for what purpose?

Not anytime soon. There aren't any good games coming out. Spending six quadrillion dollars on the latest and greatest graphics card won't magically make good games appear.

Probably to a 3070 in November, if my 18 y/o NEET ass can land a job in 3 weeks.

What for? All the games I'm playing already runs great with a gtx 970.

i have gtx 960 so yeach it is big step

I finished witcher 3 on a radeon 5850 kek

>I bought the weaker nvidia alternative to the faster amd cards in the price range
your sheeple opinions are worthless
just letting you know

Same boat, 970+i5, still works fine, but it's 8 years old and it shows.
I'm not graphic whore, but I have to peg them down a notch to keep keeping up.

nigga I'm still on my 290x and it jus' twerks

You would not believe how many people don't consider this when upgrading. What's the point of updating if no new games are coming out that cannot be enjoyed properly without updating.

As for games that people already enjoy, getting more frames won't magically transform the enjoyment of the game (unless you're upgrading from like 35 fps 1080p to 144hz 1440p)

nah 1060 3gb will last me until 5070

they need to consoooooom

I'll upgrade my 1070 in a few years. In the meantime I'll just get an xbox.

No, I should probably upgrade to an old gen one though. Using a GTX750 that I bought in like 2013

depends on the game really

bought a used rx 580 for $100 a few months ago
runs satisfactory on medium at 2k res, 60fps no problem

What's a decent not too expensive gpu these days? Still have a 750ti

regular 1080 still runs all games i play, new and old at 60fps+ 1080p anyway, whats the point? buying the latest upgrade just because its there and a upgrade is fucking retarded, games are nowhere near demanding enough to justify it

Im getting a 3090, because i want to replace my 2080ti, and there is nothing you can do to stop me from consooming

No need to rub it in, user

At least 2 years.

Soon (tm)
My R9 290 and i7-4790k build is on its last legs but I don't see any new games that really excite me. Gonna wait for 3070 ti/super/extra VRAM edition or 4070 to upgrade
The only game I kinda care about is COD Cold War but I'm not sure if it gonna give me the arcade shooter kick that COD did when I was in middle school. Meanwhile Elden Ring probably won't come out until 2022 at the earliest. I'll probably just start playing games that came out between 2012 and 2018 now since I haven't played that many and they are dirt cheap now

>Im getting a 3090

no you won't step back in line

RX 480 and RX 580 cards are great at 1080p and, as you mentioned, pretty good at 1440p too. Shame that AMD and nVidia don't care about making cards as good as those in the 200 dollar price range anymore.

Dunno honestly, using an RX480 but it runs fine enough for me for now, maybe that will change once the new console comes out.

I'll keep my 2070 untill it breaks. I got it way cheap back in March.

no, I watch vtubers all day, no time for vidya

Dude I play at 1080p and 60 FPS, I don't think Atelier Meruru really needs a 3090 to run. It will likely be years until I upgrade again because games are easily playable at 1080p without much issue.

People keep raising their resolution, but I'm quite comfortable here.

if i was sure that cyberpunk would run on my old system i5 4460 gtx 950 8gb ram then i would not upgrade but at this point i think it is time to buy new pc or maybe i will buy geforce now

I love the consume meme. But whoever posted that is a journalist who is part of the hype machine.
It comes off as a media type trying to co-opt the slogan or worse attempting to be self aware. This means the meme has reached the end of its life cycle. Damn I'll miss it

Not everyone can afford the power bill to run an AMD user.

situation that are exceptions are far fewer than people tell themselves. Right now you can count on your hand the number of games that are unplayable unless you have hardware from the last two-three years (RDR2 and Flight Simulator come to mind - not counting graphically mediocre games that are just un-optimized)

Again, unless your play competitively and are upgrading to high frame rate high refresh rate gaming or are coming from something older than 3-4 years.

rock on brother. I'll be using my gt 1030 until the day i die

i'll upgrade from my 1080 ti to the 3080
if the 3090 is over ~30% faster than i'll consider getting that one instead

>it's real
What the fuck?

pcgamer.com/when-are-you-planning-your-next-gpu-upgrade/

The extra $5 a quarter isn't even close to what your parents spend on air conditioning to keep your fat cunt cool, you dumb sheltered manchild.

This

I'm not going to stop you from consuming. In fact I encourage you to keep consuming. Keep buying a new card every year so Nvidia is forced to make more and more incremental upgrades so that when I go to upgrade there'll be a decent performance gap between my old and new system. We need morons like you.

Not like it was particularly profound in the first place
Yes, businesses want you to buy their shit, who isn't aware of this

not yet, my 1070 still serves me well

>upgrade to latest gpu
>also needs new monitor, processor, motherboard, psu
I think I'll stick to my current pc.

disgustingly based

im still a 1080p shitter so nah my 1660 should be ok for a bit longer

>falling for the 3070 meme

this month's PC purchases:
>1440hz 1440p $650
>3080 AIB $850
simple as

Probably a new case too since there's a small chance that the GPU won't fit in the current one.

just ordered this in anticipation

3070 probably in november when cp2077 gets released

>Some liteal who channel

Lol why that shit bro?

Nigga what year do you think it is ?

Ampere used inefficient Samsung 8nm - 3080 will suck at least 320 watts at full load, the 3090 will suck 350 watts, and those are the reference models, AIB will have even bigger house-warmers.

AMD uses TSMC 7nm (EUV) and it will absolutely will the efficiency crown (even if they might have to cut down performance to below 3080 to stay competitive price-wise since Nvidia is trying to box Big Navi out my lowering their prices for the first time in 8 years)

It's real LMAO

Attached: CONSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.jpg (928x1045, 243.15K)

shit I get it but the "small price difference" between the 3070 and the 3080 turns into an impossible barrier in markets less favorable than the US
saying "no one" is a bit too much
"no one in the US or Israel" maybe

Do you really need all that pcb? Break out the tin snips and save yourself buying a new case.

idk seemed ok, my current one is some 1080p 144hz AOC from 7 years ago

Lol pc gamer lobbying for consoles wtf

When I notice I can't play normal games at medium settings anymore.

Remember that 3070Ti is pretty much confirmed

>1440p in 2020
Oof big yikes there

No. Most games I play don't require such a step up.

Honestly yes. I'm looking at either the 3070 or price watching to see if the 2080TI drops in price. Consoles haven't been doing it for me for years since the games coming out haven't interested me in years (I bought maybe 3 or 4 new games for the whole gen). So instead of getting a new TV and console, I'm doing a PC and monitor. At least then when there aren't any games I care about the PC is still useful.
