Very common feeling with those I've interacted with is that they all felt like they simply weren't like everyone else during social situations. It's very different from being introverted and just not feeling happy in those situations. Good bet would be to get in touch with a therapist. It's decent practice to communicate and opening yourself up to somebody - even a professional - can help even the most deserted soul.
