No. And there will never be another good console. The industry is dead. It's not about fun games anymore. It's about high budget cinematic experiences. PC gaming is where it's at now.

All of Sony's consoles are good. 4 of the 5 best selling consoles of all time are from Sony, with the Wii taking the other spot. PS4 is the second best selling console of all time. Not including handheld besides the switch.

Only console that had problems upon release was the 360. PlayStation consoles are golden. Nothing real to worry about. Why would this generation be any different than the past (Sony dominance)? GamePass and 15 year old xbox games or a switch that plays 720p? Please. Everything you see here and on YouTube (hyping xbox, dissing Sony ad nauseum) is something you see every single generation and then xbox gets smashed and the bots crawl back in their holes and lick their wounds.

Its like, for the past 10 year xbots have been saying "exclusives dont even matter", and now that Microsoft purchased Zenimax, xbots are bragging about exclusives they don't even have yet. Let that sink in.

I have a 360 from launch day. No red ring ,no problems at all to this day. Maybe I'm lucky,idk. Regardless, I don't fanboy, and will wait patiently to see which one I like most.

I had 3 ps2s stop working within a year of launch, just kept returning them. I have 2 ps3s on my shelf, one with a broken disc drive and another with a bum hard drive.

From a purely mechanical level, no. At least not the original 500gb model. Download speeds are insanely slow and the fan is super loud. There's an issue where it spits discs out on its own, even when the console is in sleep mode. It's so common that they had to devote a fucking page to it in their website's help section. And their controllers have terrible battery life.

There needs to be a new PS2. The PS5 is shaping up to be the new PS3. We need, cheap, simple console gaming with a seemingly endless library. Fuck at this point I'll take a literal unironic PS2 with some QoL improvements over any of the new consoles. Otherwise it's really just a DRM PC box with shitty expensive hardware and some 10 exclusives(that could come anytime to PC) and nickel-and-diming at every step of the way. Who the fuck wants any of this?

PS4 is good enough. It deserves second place and the silver medal for this generation but compared to other consoles it's pretty weak. Even the PS3 ended stronger with a better library than the PS4.
