immense potential but I wouldn't get my hopes up

Better than among us.

so how is it? is the "overwhelmingly positive" warranted?

Pretty spooky but I could see it getting repetitive after just a couple playthroughs. I've been playing it in VR which has led to it scaring the shit outta me on several occasions. Not sure if it would be as effective on a montior.

getting the same vibe as fnaf
its made for streamers to scream around like 13 year old girls

Genuinely good game if you play VR with friends, will need a steady stream of updates to keep it going though, new ghosts, interactions, maps etc.

pretty good but needs tons of work obviously its in EA so it'll improve but doubt it'll stay as popular by release

>game is fun
>streamers play it as a result of this
>becomes 'streamer bait'
>can no longer be praised
go back to emulating some fucking game nobody has ever heard of it which makes you feel unique

how is it the same "vibe" as fnaf? I can't find any similarities

can you seduce the ghosts?

It's fun with groups and scratches an itch I never knew I had. If the dev can add meaningful content and changes, it can be a fun seasonal/periodic game. The game is not built for constant play through if you ask me, so I would consider playing for a day or two and taking a break so the game retains its fun nature and not be an unfun 'meta'd game.

I never found multiplayer games to be even remotely spooky but this one actually achieves that, it's always tense as fuck and the fact that the AI seems inscrutable helps a ton since you're never sure what's going to happen.

Really boring. Needs more of an incentive to actually guess the ghost type correctly since that's the entire win condition.

You cowards only play with other people because you're not actually American Psycho, just Rain Man.

I wish. One of the ghosts has some big honkers.

Dead players need more to do. Even just giving them a spook button with a few minutes cooldown would be nice.
The game overall is a little too dark. I get it haha that's the point but it results in a lot of annoying fumbling and stumbling. Other players have a hard time seeing your light as well.
I could see this game having a reasonable lifespan, more than Among Us at least.

someone post the greentext of user who raped a ghost out of haunting him

watching jerma play it was funny

How do I take a photo of the ghost without dying?

does the game have a lot of jumpscares?

sometimes the ghost manifests itself to scare you when your sanity is low or drawing it out using its name
not really just loud noises from time to time

The replay ability looks pretty low

it doesn't have any intentional jumpscare, the ghost just manifests itself in different ways, sometimes randomly and sometimes in relation to what you're doing but most of the spooks go crescendo

nah it scares you with the atmosphere instead of using cheap shock

>played with friends today for the first time
>see how you can call the ghost’s name to anger it
>exploring the house and start saying the ghost is a whore
>lights go out
>haha s-surely a coincidence
>turn the lights back on
>fuck you susan moore
>lights go out again
>friends and I officially spooked

It’s dumb to say a game is good because it’s fun with friends but the game is pretty fun with friends

I am intrigued.

If you play at a frequent rate, the game succumbs really quick to routine and monotony because of how little it really takes to identify the ghost. Side objectives give a little bit of length/difficulty sometimes, but the ability to take everything you can really removes the struggle of trying. Also the thermometer needs a major nerf/change along with temperature in general.

It's fun but the real problem is that the game only has 1 dev so you can't expect significant changes in a months timespan

Fun game, but a novelty, which is fine. It's fine for games to be a novelty you can enjoy for a few days and then put down.

It was enjoyable and had a good atmosphere, but once you fully understand how the game works the game will not be challenging or frightening anymore.

It doesn't purposefully jumpscare you, like you pass a certain trigger on the map and a ghost face appears on the screen with spooky_scream.wav going off in the background. The ghost occasionally appears more or less randomly, wherever it is at that moment: Sometimes you don't even see it, but
>breaker pops out
>go into basement to turn it back on
>turn to try the light switch anyway like the idiot I am
>after I turn back I see the ghost standing in the corner between two shelves, staring at the wall like in the Blair Witch
>I'm frozen in fear for a few seconds before it disappears again
and
>exploring bedroom with little storage and bathroom attached
>as I walk into the bathroom, the lights switch off
>I jump badly so I whip around to look at the bedroom behind me
>just as I turn around, a shadow of the ghost comes around the corner out of the storage room, which I can see only because of the lights in the hallway still being on, and disappears just before coming into the bathroom

>a ghost face appears on the screen with spooky_scream.wav going off in the background.
this is the worst kind of jumpscare
why did they ruin the game with it
