Is it actually good, is there promise? If I already know im gonna get it should I just give them my money now?

it's basically got everything from vanilla warband at this point, plus all the new streamlined menus and nicer graphics. Definitely worth IMO

>Is Bannerlord worth it now?

No

Just take a look at Talesworld official forum.

It's "Warband but with better graphics", which in itself is fine. What I think was not fine how unfinished it was at release (like most of perks not working, come on - modders could take care of that in no time at all). At some core level, I think it's the better game: it runs larger battles smoothly (at least non-siege battles, although those performance issues apparently are also mostly fixed), it has better simulation mechanics for the overworld (it was just outrageously balanced, simulated economy systems being totally borked and all that, I don't know about the present state), I would judge the combat AI as better than Warband mods, sieges have potentially more things going for them although they were still kinda glitchy when I last played (e.g. troop pathfinding having trouble finding breaches in walls so they just went up a single ladder Warband style), it's allegedly going to feature more powerful modding options although that remains to be seen, etc.

In its current state I think it's better game than Warband, but less longetive due to absence of total conversion mods, and the eventual potential seems higher due to some engine improvements. However, I don't quite know if it will reach that potential, with the development being as slow as it is.

For what it's worth, I personally played it for around a hundred hours before getting bored (about as much as I played unmodded Warband).

Did they add the "quests" where you can do things to build up relations with lords and maidens? Can we marry maidens through those pathways? Are there mechanics in place that make maidens be betrothed to lords? Can we duel lords for maidens?
Did they add different battle maps? Wasn't there some rumor that battle maps would be procedurally generated but more accurately represent the terrain of the campaign map?
Can we raise our own kingdoms?
Is settlement management not broken yet?

>What I think was not fine how unfinished it was at release
it didnt release its early access, just like the first game was. why the fuck is this such a hard concept to understand. wouldve been hilarious seeing you whine during OG MB early access

Get it on GOG, dumbass.

Also, don't buy EA game.

/mbg/ here.
No.
It's been 6 months and we've gotten almost nothing in that time.
Keep waiting. when it's good, we'll tell you. There's a very good chance that it may never get fixed properly, considering how little has been done in 6 months and that release is 6 months away.

>Basically got everything from vanilla warband
Categorically false, it's missing feasts, manhunters, deserters, companions who talk after you hire them, prison breakouts, political quests, proper AI lord dialogue and orders, village improvements, recruitable sword sisters, sexism, red hair, sausages/fruit/pork/bread, and keep battles. Among other things. It's also a lot more broken and imbalanced than vanilla WB.
Warband with bet

Devs are constantly putting out updates as well. 2gb patches weekly

Post sent early. Warband with better graphics is what I wish it was, but it's missing so much shit that was in a game from 10 years ago, plus all the factions feel exactly the same, whereas in Warband there was things each faction couldn't do (eg: no Nord cavalry) which made them feel unique.

Bannerlord courtship is literally just passing three RNG speech checks (two with the woman and one with the parents). If you fail one speech check you become permanently unable to marry that woman and have to reload the save until you pass the speech check.
Compare this to Warband where you would actually build a long term relationship with yonder wench by visiting them, completing quests to gain favor, dedicating tournament victories to them, eloping if they like you enough without the parents' approval, etc

Hahahaha bullshit, that hasn't happened since the first month of launch and a few weeks ago. There was a 5 month stretch where we got fucking nothing. Anyone can go back over the patch notes if they don't believe me

I want steam workshop (when it gets it) tho. Why would I pay for anything on GOG? and also the game is only on sale that low with steam keys

Played it for two months since it's release, it was a good journey, but it had so many unfinished mechanics and some stupid unbalanced things.

I don't know what happened to the game since May, but anyway i'll wait until it's full release, I remember the devs said the full release would come out in a year or so, so I don't think we will wait for that much.

What the hell are they doing with the patches then?
Each patch note is several pages long.

I have been watching every patch during that time and I can tell you the average content of a patch.
>Fixed rare crash
>Fixed rare crash
>Fixed rare crash
>Improved barrels on Khuzait scene 2
>Updated sheep model
>You can now go to the barber in town! Ability to change most hair styles has been removed from the customisation menu.
>Fixed rare crash
>Recategorized aserai cavalry as heavy cavalry
>Troop XP gain rate increased from 0.01 to 0.02
>Nerfed everything that provides the player with a viable source of income
>Fixed a rare crash
>Fixed a rare crash
>Multiplayer only: Increased volume of menavlation one hit kill sound effect

The only notable things they have done in the last 6 months were fixing 61% of the perks (that took modders just a week to fix 100% of), adding some NPC lords, adding a few faction armies, mildly improving economic/faction balance, and finally and most importantly, the first batch of the mod tools (but not enough that we can do anything meaningful with them yet because no animation editor).

>Benny Hill music playing in the background

I'll patiently await the warband overhaul mod

is rebellion/kingdom creation in yet

Despite shortcomings it's still a fun game and it's only going to get better

This almost makes it look like they're only polishing stuff now and they consider the game to be feature-complete at this point.

How is the multiplayer?

Some of the best gaming of my life was in Warband's.

Why would you even want Steam workshop, that shit doesn't even work offline like Nexus.

And GOG is drm-free and cheaper/the same price.

They might be gambling on one massive patch to reel people in again.
It's worked for games before, but normally for this sort of EA it's better to drip feed decent content.

It isn't worth it at this point.

i stopped playing bannerlord when i realised i couldn't command multiple armies across the world map

how the fuck am i supposed to conquer anything?

>No
>Partially
If you've played Warband through more than twice, Bannerlord is only fun for one playthrough then rapidly becomes boring.
It's one step forward and one step back from the last game, at an asking price of 60 burgerbux (discount notwithstanding).

gog has bent the knee to EA. Beware, it DOES have drm

GOG release has no DRM.

Have your marshal do it for you.

Well it depends. From everything I've seen and all the Glassdoor reviews talking about how disorganised Taleworlds is and the high employee turnover, I feel like the company is mostly incompetent interns with a small core of competent employees who work on the relevant stuff like mod tools, and now the first batch of mod tools is done, maybe the competent employees will be able to release actual content updates that make things more fun.

But it's a gamble. Until the game actually is starting to look good I would not recommend buying it. At the moment it's very grind heavy and completely lacks replayability at the end game.

I know they tell you that

If it's on sale get it. It's slowly, *very slowly*, improving.
You know, you'll play it for a couple weeks, get bored, then when you remember it a few months down the line it's fun again for maybe even three weeks, rinse and repeat.

It was always worth it

Proof?

they're fucking retards man
they go off and get captured by looters somehow and i have to waste resources creating the army all over again

Stop buying early access.
