At what point did graphics peak?

Crysis

I would say Crysis in Fidelity and GTA IV in immersion. Sure 4 looks ugly, however I still remember the first mission blowing me away.

7th gen, everything has been heavy diminishing returns since then.
Now games run 10x worse while only looking about 0.5x better.

Gears of War XBOX 360

I'd say around GTAV and TLOU1.

There were exponential improvements until 7th gen. Since 2012 they've been improving at a slower page. Thing is, the games haven't got any better in the past decade, and the industry in general has stagnated with rereleases and microtransactions being produced instead of fresh new games or concepts.

All the hype about graphics and SSDs and gamepasses are a consequence of having nothing else to talk about.

7th gen
Everything just looks the same afterwards.

are you free tonight? or will it cost me?

This, my soul yearns for a new nolf game, even though I know whoever makes it will just fuck it up.

Faces peaked with HL2.

everything past 6th gen has just been diminishing returns. There are PS2 games that still look pretty photorealistic.

NOLF was fucking KINO

How do I get an Archer gf?

A reboot would be all fucked up. I just wish there was an easy way to play the originals anymore.

Silent Hill 2 came out in 2001, and fuck me its graphics still hold up for some reason.

Is this good?

They're flawed games that rely on its writing and jokes. It's a miss or hit.

It's a fantastic game. Was one of the most acclaimed 2000's pc titles but it kind of faded away since it became impossible to buy a copy. Sequel is also top tier, the spinoff is lame. The stealth mechanics probably date but it did a lot of really cool stuff for the time.

I love Cate Archer

>spinoff
What? I never heard of it

Contract J.A.C.K.

The Xbox One X enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption already looks like a XB1/PS4 game in certain areas. I'd say absolute peak was somewhere between 2010-2015, everything since seems like it's just been tweaking.

In your mom last night lel

Contract P.O.O.P.

2004

Yeah, that one. It played like a super generic FPS. Maybe it had a fucked up development or something. Monolith in 2000's was still one of the best though.

The first game is one of my favourite games ever. I replay it every year. The sequel is better in some ways and worse in other. Contract JACK is dogshit thouht.
