Got a few good books about drawing techniques, read them and tried to apply the knowledge on my stuff. Diferent teachers use diferent techniques, so I just tried a bunch until one clicked.
The exception for that was learning digital where(as far as I've seen) theres no good book that teaches all them tools. So for that I just experimented and looked for tutorials to follow.
Also always keep reference close by, specially when drawing something with complex shapes, like anatomy. Once you've drawn something a bunch of times tho, you can forgo reference. I for one drew sue so many times I hardly reference anymore.
