Killing feels good
Thats the only thing to do in this game

When I played it was the same style of linear missions as HD GTA, which make no sense in a free-roamer, and are boring compared to actual linear games.

Dunno why you would play this over all the other open-worlds that offer more freedom and usually some unique mechanics on top of the basic driving/shooting. But I guess if you've played all those Mafia 3 is still a solid 2 or 3/5 for the enthusiasts to appreciate.

>all the other open-worlds that offer more freedom and usually some unique mechanics

Name some of them

Playing them because just got the trilogy

It would be harder to name well-known ones that just go for basic driving/shooting and bizarrely linear missions. Are you kidding me?

>True Crime (policework)
>Saints Row (gang wars)
>Mercenaries (destruction)
>Spider-Man/Crackdown/Infamous/Batman (superpowers)
>Assassin's Creed (parkour)
>Far Cry (rambo)
>Just Cause (physics)
>Watch Dogs (hacking)
>MGSV: TPP (stealth)
>etc

All way more imaginative settings than GTA/Mafia, freer missions, and additions to the formula.

>all that old shit
I prefer Mafia 3 and GTAV, even IV

it's aight. definitely not amazing but not as bad as people say it is.
it's just that you play a Tyrone and can kill KKK members, that triggers a loud portion of the gaming demographic who happen to have large amounts of autism at their disposal. so a lot of people never even gave it a chance and shit on it regardless.
personally i wouldn't play it twice but i don't think it's as bad as people say

ok zoomer

>it's aight

30 years old

Expanded to not just be "old shit":
>True Crime (policework)
>Saints Row (gang wars)
>Mercenaries (destruction)
>Spider-Man/Crackdown/Infamous/Batman (superpowers)
>Assassin's Creed (parkour)
>Far Cry (rambo)
>Just Cause (physics)
>L.A. Noire (detective)
>Sleeping Dogs (kung fu)
>Watch Dogs (hacking)
>MGSV: TPP (stealth)
>Dying Light (zombies)
>Mad Max (vehicular combat)
>FFXV (JRPG)
>Ark: Survival Evolved (survival-crafting)
>Horizon (machina)
>Ghost Recon (tactical-shooting)
>BOTW (chemistry)
>Death Stranding (transversal)
>Ghost of Tsushima (hack 'n' slash)
>Cyberpunk 2077 (WRPG)
>etc

Also you talk as if sequels to GTA/Mafia count as new despite their stagnation, while sequels to these don't.

It has some minor graphical errors and very rare (in my experience) rendering issues but it's pretty good looking. The shooting and driving are top notch as far as 3rd person shooters go. The story missions and the presentation with the cutscenes (80's style documentary) is arguably the best of the franchise with only the Mafia 1 DE coming close. It's just that the world is relatively empty and the non-story missions are boring and extremely repetitive. I did find the racial issues that the game presented to be a little heavy handed at times but it was still pretty realistic for the time. The supporting cast was pretty good and I think that Donovan was the best supporting character in the series. I'd highly recommend the DLC as it's way better than most of the game itself.

NOT YET

I gave Vito all the districts. I hope that was the canon ending because i'm not replaying this shit

not a bad game by any means, one of the few i completed this year
but it could be way better, too much le ubishaft open world maymay and retarded things like secondary missions where you needed to drive a truck from a city to another were just such a fucking retarded way to create game lenght

also, the ending was pretty neat

Would Shadow of Mordor fit into that list? It's a stealth game that can turn into a one man army simulator. also thanks for that list.

>African American seeking justified revenge for a pointless killing
>Kills Klan members
There's your reason. Zig Forums was scared.

Starting playing the first one on Xbox last night and this happened. It also skipped over the first cutscene. Had to uninstall it and reinstall it 3 fucking times just to get it work. Why is this series so fucking buggy?

It's definitely one of the two best endings. If Lincoln rules the city, he rebuilds shit, opens hospitals, and puts a good amount of his dirty money back into the city and its people. So long as you don't give control to Cassandra or Burke, everything works out.

It's a great game but not a Mafia game.

Aren't the Mordor games multi-area ARPGs like the Diablo or Souls games? Can you even do any other activities besides fight the hordes? Witcher 3 narrowly misses out on being a GTA-like due to its traditional WRPG multi-area design instead of seamless world, and that at least has loads of non-slaying activities. I don't see why Mordor would qualify if Witcher doesn't.

>The first one
>shows the remake
???
Also didn't run into anything that bad on PC. Did have police cars angrily falling out of the sky squishing civvie cars and blaming me for it.

analysts mistook a game being buggy for a game being bad

Its repetetive. Every mission is go in and kill some dudes. There are only a couple car chase missions that are extremaly dull with the auto trigger to target driver tyres or engine.

I loved mafia 1's potshots out the car, it felt so satisfying when you actually hit something

Of course. You're playing it years later after it got patches and updated content so it's in the best stage possible. If you played at launch you would've dropped it

>I rate a game's quality based off how many technical issues annoyed me
Casual. Do you also shit on a game for being old or not available to purchase?

The only good thing about it was the CIA Man

Welp
