The thing about many video game characters in general is that they're not complex at all. A lot of the time they're very one dimensional unless the story is so thoroughly written that it's more like a movie-game so the more in-depth characteristics can be explored through bullshit dialogue fluff or whatever the dev can think of adding to the game. Of course the average person will mistake complexity for a shitton of meaningless characteristics that have no effect or relevancy to the story, like being a faggot.
