Multiple times, easily the best way to play 3&K
Did so last week get fucked OP
>Why yes, I play Sonic 3 and Knuckles daily while finding something new each gameplay and enjoy every last second of it. Huh? You already knew?
I did, the final boss sent me into such a rage I bit a couple of things.
I did not too long ago, got hyper with sonic knuckles and tails
really fun
I got frustrated with both the death egg mech and mecha sonic, felt like an idiot once I figured out how to really do it. I didn't realize you had to touch the mech's nose to make the beam open up and just kept jumping near it, thought you had to bait it, and super mecha sonic gives you a pretty small window to hit him that takes getting used to
actually, no I have not
in fact I barely know anything about it
this is a windows program, correct?
no way to play on my original genesis
yeah, it's the best way to play 3&k. 16:9, consistent 60 fps, remastered music. it's free.
it's partly a blessing sega never contracted taxman to make a port of this, since air probably never would have come out otherwise, and we'd have to play on pc using bluestacks. that said, i bet taxman would have made some small improvements here and there absent from air, and maybe even added cut content
Playing 2 on the Taxman port RN
I'm at chemical plant 2 and I still Need 3 emeralds
Should I play 3k or CD After that? What about the other 2d Sonic games?
complete is better version
i hope sega someday fucking decides to port the remasters
not an expert but I'd definitely go with 3k AIR, it's the better follow up to 2
CD is kind of a different beast, it didn't really click with me. If you do play it and find the time travel mechanic annoying, just ignore it, it'll probably make the game a lot more enjoyable than having to scale these vertical levels trying to find a way to go back and then find a generator. 3k felt a lot more fun to for full completion than CD to me at least.
I got up to Launch Base and then choked at the Act 2 bosses a few times. I'd keep trying but the unskippable cutscene between fights makes it a lot worse.
>complete
More like obsolete.
You can mod any features Complete had into AIR.
you can fast forward through certain cutscenes in A.I.R. by pressing Y on xbox controllers or W on keyboard iirc, in case you didnt know
this is exactly the kind of thing that gives A.I.R. the edge over Complete for me desu, that and mod support
just tried it
>remastered music
god DAMN, this shit sounds so good
I guess I can always s3c for original hw, I gotta read the gameplay tweaks, if any
ima check it
yeah it's nice, and it still gives you the option to use the old music
might as well ask what everyone's favorite s3&k track is
I love mushroom hill act 2 & marble garden act 1
>you need the original rom from steam he he :) ;)
what the fuck
can I use my pirated rom if I already have the original fucking games
as in, sonic 3 cartridge and sonic & knuckles cartridge
yes.
Here, put this specific rom in the Sonic air folder
drive.google.com
very fond of death egg, and launch base is pretty cool. My favorite though would be the final boss music, specifically the beginning before the song speeds up. Honorable mention for both hydrocity tracks
i don't think that's a requirement anymore
>s3&k track
s3 technically, but I've always loved both angel island tunes, and how they're both the "same" tune but on a major/minor scale
Lava Reef 1 and Ice Cap 2
>can I use my pirated rom
Sure, you just say stuff like that for legal reasons.
How do I get mods to work? Literally nothing fucking gets them to show up in the new mod manager
Actually you actually Need that specific rom from the Mega drive Genesis collection
You can pirate that version, tho
There's a manual in Sonic air folder
Anyway download It, put them in %appdata%/sonic3air/mods or something like that
To enable them go to the mods from the main menĂ¹ and drag them to the left
Did they change the bosses or something, besides restoring Launch Base's?
what mods even are there to use?
id invite you to have a look yourself
gamebanana.com
there's sprite mods, sounds mods, mods that port certain features from Sonic 3 Complete, mods that just do their own thing, the works.
>Actually you actually Need that specific rom from the Mega drive Genesis collection
I've had a pirated rom for a few years now that I just stuck in AIR and it worked fine. The Genesis Collection likely just uses a generic S3K rom.
wow, much more than i thought
